I live two houses down the house with the rebel flag, was standing in front yard . Heard a loud hissing sound and a piller of light coming out of one of those towers, then a guy came running past my house yelling get out it's gonna blow, then it did cops really tripped out when me and my buddy came flying past them on our way out about 20 minutes after it blew. Couldn't go to work the next day because i was in shorts, had to sneak back into house the next night to get some clothes. Gary Polehna

I remember watching this when it happened, I was 11 years old and staying at a friend's house. Strangely enough I remember something like this better than I do 9/11.

I seen this explosion from less than a hundred yards away...i was working at wimsatt building materials..had to work late to help with a delivery..there was me and two other guys..i was punching in my code to to open up the gate...to enter the yard..and out of no where it sounded like a jet engine..i said to myself what the fuck...i looked around the corner of the building..and saw a wall of fire..i got the gate open..and yelled to the other two guys...run..run....run mother fucker run...they said why...at that time the first explosion happened..i was running as fast as I could..i remember the heat burning the back of my neck...all I could think of was my little girl who at the time was only a month old...i told myself...this is the story of my life..i wanted that little girl so bad and all the time I get to spend with her is a month...not gonna happen...we ran to the lumber racks and crawled underneath...and listen to the countless numbers of explosions...we laid there on our phones with our loved ones..not knowing how we were gonna get out...with the sounds of explosions and metal landing all around us we didn't know what to do..to our savior a fellow employee..who was also on the fire department..noticed the gate opened and a truck parked outside..he came over to investigate and found us three under the lumber racks...he got us out and got us home...that was my night of hell..Don Bartell.
