When I first saw this title, I had a momentary flash back to what happened last summer there that was not a controlled burn. But, I know that you do know what you're doing ( for the most part 😉 ) If anyone is worried about the Little's ir the Ostriches - Lester closed the gate to this pasture - so they're safe. Since this was a controlled fire and the Fire Department knows about it I guess I'm comfortable with it. I know in fields where I use to live always burned them after they were done bailing hay. Then they plowed and seeded. So I think your doing a great job in doing what you were told to do. I'm praying your pasture will grow good grass for the babies. 🎉❤

Coastal bermuda will grow tall. It does spread along the ground, but it does grow tall. That's what the owner of the ranch I worked on baled for hay. It just depends on what type of bermuda it is. If I remember right, the hydroseed was a type of Coastal bermuda grass. The ash from the burn should be good for the soil

Lester, I remember years back you, uncle Dan, Jake and PawPaw doing the controlled fires time to time at ISS and the rest of Morrow Hill and how everything grew back nice and lush again. Although, I do remember a time you guys having to do some stomping out here and there. 😂 Here in NJ on our parkway/highway that has lots and lots of Pine trees they do the same thing but not for grass, to prevent forest fires. It’s wild to see how quick it spreads. You never think that rain could dry up grass but truth is too much rain does kill grass, plants and bushes. Glad the weather was cooperative for you.

One ember caught my dry grass on fire and I woke up to the fire department in my yard. Burned down my neighbors privacy fence too! So grass can catch the fence on fire. Please keep an eye on that.
