This video is a mix, or mashup, consisting of several variations on the battle music "Blue Skies and a Battle" and "Between Heaven and Earth" from the Fire Emblem series. It consists of soundtracks from the Nintendo Switch titles Fire Emblem: Three Houses and Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes.
The song "Blue Skies and a Battle" captures the naïveté of the students participating in the battle at Gronder Field. Its complex melody embodies both anticipation and exhilaration, yet a few moments of the song shed light upon an unknown evil lurking within the peaceful days. At a superficial level, the Battle of the Eagle and Lion is simply a mock battle under blue skies. Half a decade later, the former students reunite in the midst of war. Yet, in time's cruel flow, friendships among the students have ceased to exist. Now, they fight each other as enemies in battle. The drums of war continue to resonate five years later. The song "Between Heaven and Earth" incorporates a similar melody and reveals the once unknown evil touched on five years prior-the inhumanity of war. Once more, a battle occurs at Gronder Field under skies that never fail to be colored blue. However, this particular battle theme frames the onslaught in an outlook that is larger than life. In between the heavens and the planet known as Earth, the same blue skies that had remained high above the Battle of the Eagle and Lion continue to prevail. Likewise, there is a battle coupled with the blue skies. As Heaven exhibits eternal life and the earth portrays inevitable death, the music "Between Heaven and Earth" divulges how battles within war, although exhilarating and fruitful, are a constant struggle between life and death. As blood spills across the breadbasket of Fódlan, it is quite clear that the harmonious times are over. Under the skies that are obstinate in hue, it is now a battle for survival-a battle between Heaven and Earth.

I always found the similarities tragic. Like, it goes from an intense mock battle for a reward, to trying to survive in a war against your friends.

@@abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxy768 The whole game is about how war, even when nessecary, ruins people. Edelgard, Dimitri and Claude are all traumatized barely adults being thrust into roles of leadership that none of them were truly ready for, each one struggling to cope in their own way. There's the clashing ideals between the three lords. Edelgard has a good point in wanting to dismantle the fascistic systems in place in Fodlan. And while Claude and Dimitri are saving lives by siding with the church, they are also upholding those fascist systems. None of them are in the absolute right. Like real people they all have their own reasoning and motivations. Finally, there's the classmates, each of them having to weigh family ties, friendships, ideals, their homeland and possibly likelihood of survival against each other. No one comes out of a war unscarred. It's not glorious or honorable. It's ugly, it's horrifying and it leaves you with nothing but lifelong trauma and the corpses of loved ones. The Fodlan games both get really dark if you look at what is just beneath the surface. I haven't played many Fire Emblem games but out of the ones I have played, Three Houses stood out to me as the undisputed most tragic one. No ending is wholly satisfying. No path the truly correct one

@@lightmarkal273 I think that is because of the demand for a Golden Route for Three Houses, as well as the fact that even though the developers intended to make Edelgard a villain they made her too compelling which is why her route is the only one that can split into 2 different routes. She made for a great antagonist, but honestly her ideals would have won over the leaders of the other houses because none of them were every truly against those ideals and had compatible ideals that were mere extensions of what she wanted to do. What made her the antagonist was her methods alone.

The bits of hardcore battle hyping you up for a fight... Then the sorrowful moments where you kill someone who you loved in another life. In another timeline they were your precious students, and allies. But now, you've murdered them. Your character may not remember, but you do. Where is the happy ending we the player wishes for so much...?

Back when the dlc first came out, I had a Blue Lions Playthrough on the go, after beating Cindered Shadows I rushed to recruit the wolves before time skip. In this particular playthrough I didn't recruit Bernadetta, so flash forward to the Gronder Field battle, since Yuri had the better movement speed of everyone I had I rushed him to the balista and killed Bernie... There was no dialouge, nothing. My next playthrough I saw their support and thought "...What the hell did I DO?!" Every run after that, I never did that again.

It's fitting that the Fire Emblem that details the path you take as the Reincarnation of the Progenitor God of the Fire Emblem Universe is as epic as it is. Three Houses is and always will be one of my favorite games of all time because of its rich lore, story, and how it weaves in little bits and pieces of other Fire Emblems into its setting.

From a friendly competition to a battle to the death...that feels sad if you think about it. Dimitri Eldergard and Claude showing love and friendly competition to each other (including the other students)...then they have to kill each other (specifically Claude does it not by his will and, in fact he is devasteted inside). :( Such a tragic end for them but they are epic characters, specially Dimitri!♥️♥️

Meanwhile in an alternate universe where byleth isnt plunged into a deep sleep. Byleth: I must get stronger. How can I be worthy of this strength if I can't sabe them! If Sothis is so e kind of god then I have to prove I'm worthy of this strength! I'll do what Serios and those before me couldnt and save everyone! Byleth would then for the next five years train his body and mind.

Imagine a Church Route where Byleth is an actual character, and you and your army show up as a fourth faction determined to break up the fighting. You have to subdue your former students and when you do some members of their army disperses, you can choose not to save anyone, or you can save everyone, but it'll be very difficult, you'll usually have a middle ground since, you'll definitely recruit some units, oh but for extra fun, why not make recruiting some units have a pre-requisite? You have to save unit A first because Unit B won't if Unit A is dead, but I don't like a golden route in a game like this. Consequences will still happen, and Dimitri, Claude, or Edelgard are most likely still going to perish by the end of this war since they are hell-bent on their ideals, Claude is most likely going to end up as a Casualty in the fight between Dimitri and Edelgard causing the alliance to permanently fracture, Dimitri will most likely perish since he is hell-bent on killing Edelgard, and Edelgard gets mortally wounded but is alive long enough to become a Hegemon husk, Fodlan is at ruins, but the enemy is now clear, the Agarthians become the main focus of the church route and Nemesis is the final boss, or you know, golden route, everyone lives but Agarthian dies, but I don't want a route like that in a game like this, I want consequences from my actions.

@Tyler Writes I know, I know, but just my personal preference, I like my fantasy with a side of bitter truth, but the Golden route is pretty tempting... But that would make the sacrifices made on other routes all for nothing, which would suck, but you know, anything to get rid of angry mole people.

This game really was impossible to follow up on music, story, characters were all top notch and they didn’t break the gameplay. Yes, the graphics were PS2 HD Remake quality, but that really didn’t matter.
