It’s... kinda a complex subject. I will warn you in advance about the length of this comment, as I love this subject and did kind of get carried away a bit In the Japanese version, Soleil, in spite of her very similar personality, is able to romance all of the male second-gens and none of the females. She isn’t able to date F-Corrin as Rhajat can, and the differences in tropes and culture between the U.S and Japan make it hard to tell if her affinity for girls is meant to be interpreted as romantic interest or not. In further confusion, she is known as “The Girl Lover” in one of the guidebooks, and that... that can be taken however you wish to take it. In the U.S version, her character leans more closely towards bisexuality. The evidence comes not in how many romantic relationships she can have with girls- though her personality implies enough here, I feel- but instead in how few romantic relationships she can have with men. Her S-Supports with most of the male children are notably platonic. I highly encourage you look up some of the Japanese originals and compare sometime, because it’s kinda staggering and also kinda cool how similar and yet different they are. Of the two men she can enter a relationship with, both prove to be telling. Much of her support with Forrest regards his effeminacy, and she outright describes him as “a super-cute man dressed like a girl“; M-Corrin’s, apart from being necessary because the Corrins can romance everyone, gives us the following: “I like men just fine. I think I could even get to like one for real if I knew him well enough.” This can be broken down in a LOT of different ways, all of which are valid if they serve you, but I am going to leave anything between the lines alone because I’m trying to be as factual as I can. What this line outright says is that it takes a long while for Soleil to ‘for real’ like a male, for whatever sexuality that means for her. So, to conclude this miniature essay: Soleil’s sexuality is an unknown in the Japanese version but trends towards straight. Soleil’s sexuality in the U.S version trends towards bi-female preference, but it is also not known with absolute certainty.
