Spot on with the 3H opening, it is one of the few FE cutscenes that always gives me chills whenever I watch it. The sheer hatred and spite Seiros has in her eyes and voice sold this scene for me.

3H opening is just so perfect to me. The intense music, animation style is unique with 3d modeling combined with the hand drawn backgrounds giving it a picture esque look, how the cinematography sweeps and swoops with the clashes of blades, the frantic and punchy fight choreography, i oculd go on and on. everything about it is perfect

Really cool how you get more after the second time you watch 3H intro as you get more and more clues about the story, I just think is a neat intro and really wish the church route was about Rhea.

RD's opening is already great in terms of atmosphere, but imagine if it transitioned seamlessly into a nighttime skirmish with the Begnion platoon. It's such a perfect setup for a tutorial map, I still wonder why they didn't do so

I would put echoes a decent bit higher imo. It looks good the voice acting is great and even though you have no context at first, throughout the story you see how people can get possesed and other weird stuff. I remeber when learning the lore avout witches i thought back to that cutscene and wondered if thats what happened to celica. Made for a interesting theme of how that cutscene comes to be despite a lot of the story showing they still love eachother.

I completely forgot that Awakening begins with the Validar battle scenes, I thought it was the Chrom we HAVE to do SOMETHING scene and I was like, why would that scene end up in the top 3? 😂😂 Also completely agree with #1! Though I need to tell I am sad about the SS comments, I love that game the characters especially 😢 though of course everyone has a preference and that's a good thing!

It was the madness and clear unhinged nature of Rhea when she went all out on Nemesis that really unnerved me first time I played 3H and how as soon as I saw her at Monastery I immediately suspected and mistrusted her. Like she clearly wasn't a villain but also was clearly not to be trusted and that opening cutscene does so much to set that dynamic up.

What's in the top 3? Is it the Dawn Brigade?

Can't really disagree with 3H placement. When I first saw it, I knew this game was gonna be dark. Did not expect Radiant Dawn to be up there though, honestly due to memes and just for the fact that Path of Radiance only got so far. I will say that, however, I think you did Echoes dirty by not including the fully voiced narration past the intro chapter (since you did that with Awakening). It was so cool seeing it fully narrated and drawn out. Also you should definitely do intro cutscenes (as in the cutscenes that occur once you boot up the game, not just your save file).

Honestly, it will be tough for them to beat 3H’s opening but hopefully we can get awesome openings like that from here on.

The main reason I didn't figure out that Rhea was Seiros during my first playthrough was because I was very confused about who Seiros vs Sothis were. I thought Seiros was the goddess since their religion was literally named about her. I was also super confused by the opening cutscene and proceeded to just forget about it. Although, after having completed 3H, I now really love that cutscene, so I agree with it being #1

Feel like knowing that Rhea obviously = Seiros from the cutscene takes a lot out of the narrative. Feels silly as the player

I disagree with the Three Houses cutscene. It's good visually but I don't think it really does anything to set up the story or introduce the literal main characters. It just feels unnecessary to the story as a whole and can pretty much be completely ignored without so much as a second thought. Any battle scene could've done the same thing and felt similar. It also doesn't set up for any of the problems that plague the current world Byleth inhabits even slightly. Especially since the fight between Seiros and Nemesis is already covered in the exposition of the story. I just feel like there are no stakes to the scene that add anything actually meaningful to the game. Take this with a grain of salt. 3H is one of my least favorite fire emblems, from story to gameplay. I'm not trying to say the cutscene is bad out of bias; however, feel free to interpret what I said how you please.
