In this scenario, Jeralt probably would've been proud of Byleth for having the balls to actually turn against Rhea outright. Something Jeralt himself lacked the courage to do. Best he was able to muster was staging Byleth's death and fleeing the monastery to break free temporarily. Even had a cover prepared to explain Byleth's presence. Edelgard is easily the most interesting Lord out of the Three. Like her life begins pretty strong with her time at the Kingdom where she even met with Dimitri until...that when her life begins to take a turn for the waste. Edelgard returns to the Empire only to met with torture, experiments, trauma and watched all of her siblings die while her father can't do anything. This event sadly made her forget everything about the time that Dimitri and Edelgard bonded which is a shame as...if this terrible event didn't happen they would have possibly become the best of friends. She soon watched how the nobles made her father into a puppet on the throne and how watched how the value of Crest can destroy a person's life. As shown in Hanneman's support which reveals how his sister got killed...it pretty messed up. Keep in mind that this isn't the only time on how a "Crest" can ruin a person's life. Sylvain's brother got completely disowned by his own father because Sylvain got a crest and he didn't, Ingrid with how suitors only love her because of her crest and due to this....it might force her out of her dreams of becoming a knight, Mercedes got a shit dad that only loved her mother just because of a crest and once he has a male heir he completely kicked them out...oh that not all. Once he heard about her escape with her mother...he was planning to make Mercedes marry him...but lucky her young brother killed him sadly it didn't end there as her adopted father took her in just because she has a crest and he what her to marry. As for the Golden Deer...Lysithea suffered the same fate as Edelgard...well nearly the same but hey it close enough. In fact, in their support, Edelgard treated her as a sister alongside a friend. Marianne is always haunted about her crest and is actually suffering the same fate as Mercedes where her adopted father what her to marry. Like Rhea is known for not listening to criticism and doesn't give a shit as she rather stays in power. In fact, the Church of Serio is corrupt and yet Rhea didn't do anything about it, from how history is rewritten, killing those who oppose them, not listening to the ideas of reforms and etc. Also, keep in mind that they have been doing this shit year! About a thousand years ago which caused a lot of suffering. Yet they wonder why people oppose them. So keep in mind that yes Edelgard can go a little too far....but this doesn't excuse Rhea's actions.

Edel is the true hero of the game. Easily the most misunderstood character the fact she gives up her throne the moment she realizes her goals of reform just shows how she meant everything she said and it was never a desire for power her goals were noble and never misguided she set forth with each step with determination that others might not agree but it was all necessary in order to build the future for fodlan as a whole. No one else had that resolve, if edel never existed rhea would still be ruling and trying to rebirth her mother and fodlan itself would have never progressed beyond where its been since the church assumed control of fodlan as a whole. Really fodlan would benefit immensely if she continued to rule cause she has the qualities to be easily the most outstanding human leader in all of fodlan's history second really probably to only sothis herself and thats only because of what she was capable of as a goddess.

I love the cutscene that plays Edelgard and Byleth doing the final blow on Rhea with Aymr and the Sublime Cteator Sword, and me knowing full well those 2 weapons broke when I one turned that map

I am probably in the minority here, but I view Crimson Flower as the canon Three Houses ending. Why? Because it is the only route where the enemy, the Immaculate One (who is, of course, the seriously evil Dragon most FE games feature as Final Boss) is identified as being evil and dealt with accordingly. Leave it to Fire Emblem to create a game with three obvious story routes that all share an enemy (i.e. Edelgard)...and a partially hidden fourth route where that enemy is in fact a dear friend and fighting against the true oppressor of humanity (i.e. Immaculate One/Church of Seiros). Strange logic? No stranger than viewing Fates' third Revelation route as the true canon ending because it is the only one where we rid the world of Anankos. Even the FE Wiki states that "Anankos is the true main antagonist and the true final boss of Fire Emblem Fates."

I really hope the story DLC extends the Crimson Flower route. It feels like there was much less effort put into that one compared to the other three, since there are fewer chapters and even fewer animated cutscenes. Hell, even Rhea's transformation into The Immaculate One is done in a freaking single cg image of her with no transition. And then there's "The Ones Who Slither in the Dark", who on top of needing a better, proper name, though that's just a general complaint, are never properly confronted in the CF route despite them clearly being behind even more awful things than the Church of Seiros. Like really, all the needed to do was make the battle against Dimitri into it's own standalone chapter, do the same with the battle against Rhea, then add like two chapters where The Ones Who Slither in the Dark betray you and Edelgard and you have to take them down to end the war, or maybe flip the order of the Rhea confrontation and TOWSITD. I mean, don't get me wrong, I love Edelgard, and went CF for my first playthrough, but the route feels unfinished and lacking compared to the other three.

I'm hoping for a new DLC route where you can save *everyone*. Help unify everyone like Claude wants, save Dimitri from the darkness of the past, and Edelgard with.....well everything (the end of BL could've been better for her sake). Who knows, we can uncover a cure (something of that sort) for Edelgard so that her original hair color returns. Many people may not like her, but I feel like they can do more for her.

What I hate most about Three Houses, is that, each of the 4 characters - Claude, Edelgard, Dimitri and Rhea - all of them go down such extreme paths, unless YOU help them. YOU, the Main protagonist, help them to become better people, overcome their demons and not end up such, broken people. Edelgard becomes Cold and merciless, Dimitri becomes Deranged and seeking death, haunted by his past, and Rhea, well... do we really need to talk about Rhea? oh and I'm sure Claude's got some skeletons in his closet or something. anyway, point being if you could just, help all of them, Dimitri, Edelgard, Rhea, things would turn out a lot better for Fodlan

I got the impression that Edeleth is literally a choice of game. The rescue of Edelgard points to this from the very beginning. Only this ending is truly correct, because the player frees humanity from the tyranny of the Church. All changes are positive.

At first, I thought Claude was the neutral route, the path that might let us save all of our students. Unfortunately, none of them allow that outcome, but this one definitely feels the closest to being a “true” ending. She just feels...warmer, than the others. She was so genuinely happy that we survived, and we reclaimed our humanity in the end. This was the route where we showed her the light and renounced our power after saving the world

When I first received the game, I sided with Dimitri and played the azure moon route and I completely hated edelgard for all the tragedy and suffering that she caused throughout Fodlan. Regardless I completely understood her motives for rebelling against the church and throughout the end of azure moon I was still hoping that Dimitri could still be able to reach out to her and redeem her, but in the end it just seemed as if she was beyond salvation; but after watching this I was shocked to see her human side emerge throughout the time that she spent with byleth. What really broke me though was seeing her being overcome with remorse after killing dimitri. At first I just thought that to her the moments that the two shared together throughout their childhood was nothing but a lie, however that scene proved me wrong.

Byleth playing through Crimson Flower: Byleth in Golden Deer: So anyway, I started cutting. Quick analysis of that scene: Byleth recognizes Edelgards feelings for them and realizes what a terrible mistake they made by abandoning her and letting her become a cold ruler. Feeling angry at themselves and remorseful at the unsalvageable state she was in, they kill her and get it over with.
