@@LtgRogerAirgood I agree, it focuses on inmate crews, if it is the film I remember. It spends a great deal of time showing camp life, inmate counseling, training and non emergency work. It should have had a different title that described it better, something that included women inmates, conservation camps and the correctional system. I had hoped to see 3 hours of film showing the incident command system (ICS), ICS training and qualifications, how large fire camps are built, the huge logistical effort supporting large incidents, fire strategy and tactics, aviation, dispatch, etc. It should have shown the tremendous value of inmate crews to federal, state and local agencies doing non firefighting work. It should have shown interagency hotshot crews, who are not inmates, far from it. The film could have focused on the incredible and complex, well integrated fire service in the U.S.

At first I was thinking the same thing, figured it was a slow night for the Sherriff's dept, but, considering (as others have pointed out), the number of people that may need to be notified to evacuate, you need a ton of support. I also didn't realize that this had grown to 17 acres from the original 20x20 with slow advancement

Watch that segment again carefully. The lights of the law enforcement vehicle were screened or hidden from the civilian vehicle by vegetation and a small rise, second the emergency vehicle had a red light and it is prudent to stop or slow nearly to a stop before proceeding through the intersection. By the time the civilian vehicle saw the lights it would have been dangerous and ineffective for it to attempt a stop. These observations are based on doing some light and siren driving and riding.

@Maizefire
@Maizefire 5 жыл бұрын
@@easttennesseelightsandsire8152 it actually depends on the agency like for example you can see la FD respond code 3 on the interstate I think in this case what it was is there was so many units and they had several on scene that they had the other units downgrade their response due to the them not really need it to be there fast. Back to responding on the highway the agency where I'm at usually turns their lights off when responding to an accident on the freeway however AMR goes lights and sirens all the time on the freeway.

In frontenac county ontario canada when a forest fire call gose out canada airbourn fire services get it first then the fire departments are notified. threason why this happens is so that the helicopters and fire fighting aircraft can get to the fire and begine suppresing itso the fir departments can knock it down

7:51 The tanker is dripping something
@wannabetowasabe
@wannabetowasabe 5 жыл бұрын
It's dripping water for some reason. I would bet they topped off the water tank prior to responding, but that is a guess. The water is from the overflow at the once it was filled, the delay between the tank being filled and turning off the standpipe or hydrant. They may have filled the tank some hours or days prior and water remained underneath the tank and that is more likely. It is not fuel and the tank is not leaking.
