Multiple fire engines, rescue trucks and other emergency vehicles responding with siren and lights to a significant fire in a high rise tower block in Whitechapel, London, UK.
At 15:53 on Monday, 8th March 2022, the London Fire Brigade were called to a fire in a three-roomed flat on the 17th floor of a high rise at Whitechapel High Street and Commercial Street. The fire destroyed the flat and also affected a flat on the 18th floor and a balcony on the 19th floor.
A woman was trapped and given fire survival advice by control officers. Firefighters were able to rescue her using a fire escape hood.
The London Ambulance Service stated that they treated 4 patients and transported 2 to the hospital. 70 persons in total were evacuated.
A 64 metre Turntable Ladder, one of the tallest aerial appliances in the world at 209 feet reach, was also mobilised. You can see it going to work at 5:00 in the video.
The fire was under control by 19:07 and the cause is under investigation.

As always a huge well done to the all emergency services. Thoughts with those affected.

@@hollsyeatsnemos1676 that's really sad!..... i lost one of my younger cousins in a fire when i was about to start my 7th grade in school.... i had one last final exam i had to attend and this cousin was staying in a different place and my mum had to leave me with my dad and elder brother because my mum's dad had suffered a major stroke so she had to go for a week.....and the next day after my mum returned, we get a phone call from my mum's brother, early in the morning, that their second sister's children were injured and that her daughter would not survive while her son would survive but would need plastic surgery because his right side was burnt bad and he had suffered a permanent damage to his right ear and his right arm and leg.......i really couldn't forgive myself for that because i promised her (that very same cousin who passed away in that fire) that i would be there for her when she needed me, but since i was having my exams and my mum was the only one to have visited them and had just returned a day just before the accident.....i had no way of helping her.....her parents say that she looked like a total carbon copy of me before the accident.....

Really good video. I cannot believe how polite the London emergency are. Where I in Melbourne Australia we routinely drive on the wrong side of the road at speed to get to incidents. We never bother waiting at traffic lights we always go around stationary traffic. Also that’s a pathetic little hose for such a tall ladder truck. All our fire appliances can pump out over 500 gallons of water per minute. At very high pressure.
@johnbratley6926
@johnbratley6926 Жыл бұрын
All UK pumping appliances exceed 500 gpm. The TL's and ALP's have pumps and are accompanied by a support appliance. In this fire there appeared to be a supply problem. The throw did pick up later.

woooow! that was some fire.....well Steven, did they say what caused that fire in the tower block? i was thinking it was either an electrical issue that caused the fire or some gas leak......but i seriously would appreciate it if you could tell me though and how long was that fire going on? i mean when you were on live i remember seeing the time afterwards and that live was 1 hour 22 minutes (if i am not mistaken) and to see that these fire rescue guys and gals were still there along with the police and the medics, it would have been some huge fire .....but i was glad to see it live yesterday though! ...and i must admit that i was really feeling sorry for that kid whose uncle was on stand by just in case he was needed, because that kid (sorry i said that "kid" but i think that's who i expect that person to be) because they really were in high panic mode and normally it's easy for people who are younger to not understand what is going on and even get scared at the fact of losing their loved ones who are in the fire fighting squads ..... well anyway AWESOME VIDEOS as always Steven, Chris and Cameron! and yup i hope that you three have an amazingly awesome day today and everyday...... 🙂stay safe, protected and blessed always you guys..... 🙂

@@leenisp8nis909 what's your problem if i am being "Nosey" ? i wonder what i should call you now? because you actually are the one who sounds "nosey" in my opinion........if you don't like my comment, then the fact was just so simple, you should have just avoided commenting to my comment.....and i think you should think twice about what you say to people.....because if you think someone is nosey, and you say "Stop being so nosey" what does THAT comment YOU typed say about you? because if you look at your own comment LOGICALLY, doesn't YOUR own comment sound "Nosey" to you? because you are typing a comment when i NEVER even asked YOU A DAMN THING...so if you have nothing good to tell people, then just don't comment.....because THAT IS THE SMARTEST WAY to avoid getting in trouble with other people..... because you never know what other people are thinking about you.....and for your kind information, I WAS GENUINELY WORRIED ABOUT THOSE PEOPLE TRAPPED IN THE FREAKING FIRE! from my 21 years fire fighting experience with LFB ( i retired from active service in 2018 )it looks like a gas leak,you can tell by the signs of a large outburst where it is more darker then most affected area's,where the orignal explosion/fire started, & spread to other area's of the tower block building..i hope nobody was serious hurt in this emergency 👍

@@mas0nit3 thank you sir for this information sir.... and thank you for your services as a fire fighter, even if you retired from active service in 2018....... 🙂....... actually there as one woman apparently who was seen running around screaming whom they helped ..... but i didn't see that on the video because it was hard to make out...... but yesterday i came back apparently there was someone there and one person actually commented about a woman in that building and i was like "what woman?" because as far as i had seen it was too far for me to notice....but i think she was trapped and as far as i could think she was seen screaming from one of the windows..... but since the fire rescue squad helped get her out, i think that everyone is safe..... actually that fire raged for more than 1 hour..... because i and a few of us got to watch it live on Cobra Emergency Videos' channel and that live went on for almost 1 hour 22 minutes and 8 seconds.....and i thought it was put out....but when i came back yesterday, they uploaded this one as well..... so the fire really was huge and i was like "seriously!" i mean, i watched it on live saw that at times it seemed like the fire was out but then suddenly we always ended up catching a small "spark", i call it a spark because of the distance Steven was recording from....... but this other video actually shows how bad the damage was......

@@CobraEmergency Yup! and i hope that kid, whose uncle was on stand by during this fire, will feel better now and understand that what their uncle was doing, is something to be proud of but also i hope that they understand that their uncle is a professional fire fighter who is well trained and that no matter what, he will come out safe and sound along with anyone who might be trapped inside......and as every fire fighter (or even a geek/ book worm/ someone who is after gaining more knowledge, like me) would know, there is more chances of someone dying when something falls on them, or by smoke inhalation than flames due to being trapped in the area that has not yet been engulfed by the flames..... but if the room is already engulfed in flames, then there is a chance of being killed by the flames.....but as far as i could see, even from the live video Steven, the fire rescue and the other emergency services involved really responded on time, or things might have been far worse...... and it was good of them to rescue that woman who was screaming....i think that she was trapped and the only way she could have got attention to her situation was by trying to be seen by someone in the squad...... but as i learnt in school (or from books) that you need to remain calm under any situation, and not run around like her because she could have gotten hurt by something falling on top of her, because we did see something fall out while you were live Steven...... so i was really glad that that personal, we saw at the top of the world's tallest ladder, didn't get hit because that was really very close to him..... so all in all GREAT TEAM WORK by everyone in the emergency services (from fire fighters to the medics to even the police) involved in putting out the fire..... Thanks to them no one was hurt or killed..... 🙂.
