Ocean County - Brick - 176 20th Ave - Two Alarm -
Just after 11:45 PM Brick Township received a call for a possible house fire, caller reporting fire from the garage. On arrival of PD, they confirmed a working fire, flames from the garage, and extending. The auto second alarm was transmitted due to the confirmed working fire. First due fire officer 2410 was on the scene shortly after, along with 2471 first due engine. 2410 sized it up as a 1.5-story wood frame with active fire showing. 2471 was to hit the hydrant and stretch a 1.3/4 line to the house for a fire attack. Crews started with fire suppression while crews went inside for searches and further fire attacks. Outside crews were working to open up the garage where the fire had started, while one of the members was operating the opening the garage gas leaked out of the tool into the FF and quickly engulfed him, due to quick reactions from fellow FF's around they were able to drop him and quickly get the fire out with no injuries. Crews remained to work and suppress the fire, crews worked for around 1.5 hours on the scene. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time and is under investigation by the Brick Township Fire Bureau. *With permission from FF involved.*
