- A Fire & Ice acrylic pour painting on a round panel. I had these panels made, since (spoiler!) I need them for my new do & don't challenge that is coming up the 6th of march! But I got inspired by the weather here in the Netherlands. We do have nice winters, but this time we had REAL snow, like a lot and for a little while ;-). I loved it, and wanted to make an icey artwork, see that video here: • Cold as ICE ~ Incredib...
After that one, I really wanted to create a fire and ice artwork to go with it. I really love the splitbase and the splitcolors to create this effect.
Why did I use floetrol this time? My mixture was thicker and mixed with floetrol because I wanted it to level out, so I could spin or tilt this painting. With my normal Acrylics & water mix, that does not work as well for me :).

I am an acrylic pouring addict, without a doubt. Playing with colors, testing out new fluid art techniques, brands, sizes & collaborating with other abstract fluid artists; is the best. Since I started this journey I feel more balanced in my work and passion. If you see these fluid painting tutorials and feel like, this is something for me: go for it! The fun thing about fluid painting is, that even though you do exactly the same, the outcome is different everytime. Also everybody has a different view of composition, colorcombinations and the way of doing a technique, what makes and keeps it so interesting to watch. That is so cool! I see a masked (like a masquerade ball mask) face right in the middle, that works when either side is the "top." Am I just overly tired? 😆

I love the cells this created--they add so much interest. The composition is very nice. There is a balance of negative space in both the black and the white areas. Of course, the colors are gorgeous.

Imagination can go wild with fire and ice. I've done the silhouette concept that is so common, but this style is so alluring and elegant. Colors and lacing are beautiful to give the contrast in emotion in when look at the artwork. Awesome!

It does look like fire and ice, love the cells. Honey you need a silver bakery spinner they have great ball bearings and spin smooth all the time. Just an FYI. Love your art.

You were off centre when you were spinning! It does make a difference. I like the blue/black and white but would prefer it on its own, rather than with warm colours. The Floetrol does give lovely cells.

When you spend your canvas center it on the Lazy Susan. When it goes more towards one side it only pulls color towards that.

Beautiful Rinske! I did a Fire one yesterday using the exact combination without the gold and used Amsterdam Red/Violet and that mixed really well with the orange, red and copper too on a black negative space but I think I like how yours looks on the white a bit better as all black was a bit much I think. The split is beautiful and I LOVE fire & Ice its gorgeous 😍

That was funny even before you mentioned Molly that one piece she made really was super cool. I'm so glad you guys have become Buddies you are both such a sweeties, and very talented. I think it would be fun to do a challenge like this with you guys with No Boundaries just pick a theme and the color palette. It would be awesome to see all your different interpretations. Just a thought. It really is nice to see the camaraderie between you all . Perhaps instead of putting the black over the blue just blowing it out a little bit more with the blue and I think it would be really cool if they were like grabbing it each other. Okay fustrated lady who does not have time to paint living vicariously through you. Really turned out beautiful
