The TSPF Shanty Singers perform "Fire Marengo," a cotton loading shanty from the age of sail. Workers would sing shanties like this one while tightly "screwing" cotton down into ships' holds.

girl on right has a good voice, but should have done some warm-ups before singing, she broke on the low notes. still better than any working-type sailor couldve done on the deck!

Thanks for the tips! We will add that sailors had a... varying quality in voice throughout history. Some could REALLY carry a tune. Some, less so. That certainly still stands today. We are very proud of all our singers and these are some of our best!
