For anyone wondering, the ladder truck is a 1980 Mack CF612 with a 75 foot Aerialscope ladder. It has an ETAZ673A diesel engine, with an output of around 300 hp. The truck body was likely made by Mills Tui, and the siren is probably an in house one, as someone said before me in the comments below. The first truck is a 2010 Scania P310 built in Södertälje Sweden.

The truck is an old school ladder truck and it looks great. It looks like it’s a little clumsy in certain tight places with that overhang in the back but it’s maybe not a problem in Aukland. Mega video and stay safe and keep being awesome.

OMG this brings back so many child hood & adult memories for so many reasons. My father was based at that station many years ago, there used to be family days where the kids would be allowed on site. They would do burns to show what the job entailed, the trucks would come roaring in, lights & sirens going & they would put out the 'fires', the back lot was huge as lots of training/testing was done there back then. We would get to play in & around them but when the inevitable siren would sound, we would stand & watch them get dressed then go. If we were lucky we were still there when they returned. As I grew older I never lost that feeling I got as a kid when it came to being around that & other stations. My son until just recently was a vollie where we lived, I would have loved to have been in the service as well but myhealth wouldn't allow it.

The aerial truck is a Mack chassis with a Baker Aerialscope. It's a telescopic platform. Very popular for many years in the United States, especially in New York City. Probably one of the most durable and reliable aerial devices ever created. The fact it's mounted on a Mack CF Chassis makes that statement even more true. They may still be available, although mounted on a Seagrave chassis by now.

@89.8kiwifm9 8 жыл бұрын
+Will Shield It doesn't have a name as such. Mills Tui build fire and emergency vehicles, and around the time this engine was built they were making their own sirens in-house. So it's not a Federal Signal or Whelen or 'brand name' siren. They designed and made them in their factory. Nothing fancy, just a small siren generator board driving a 100 watt power amplifier board, all quite small and compact but very effective.
