No I didn't bother as long as your not prodding your fingers in there it will be fine..

@@BigBoyzToyz1974 OK, LOL. I just learnt the maintenance for mine belongs to the building I am in as mine appears to be hard wired. So now no longer my cost to bear, thank God. They have been chirping for days now.

Not the usual Fire Angel. Mine is the sealed "10 year" type. The old pp3 alarms were FAR better!
