Thank you for tuning into the new episode of Project Wilson. We are turning this 15’ Fisher Jon Boat into a Tiny Boat! 25hp Mercury Outboard motor, 24v Minnkota Bow Mount Trolling motor, marine batteries, casting decks, livewell, fish finders, electronics, recessed foot control tray, hydroturf…this boat will be awesome! In this video we used PVC to make Electrical conduits for our Jon Boat to Bass Boat Conversion. This will allow us to run electrical wires from the bow of the boat to the electrical panel in the cockpit. 1" PVC pipe was used as well as a 1 1/2" hole saw. PVC was much easier to use than Electrical PVC.
As for vertically supporting our casting deck, I went ahead and purchased more 1.5" angle aluminum to ensure the vertical 1.25" tubing was straight across all braces. This was a huge factor in making this look good and straight. I was also able to purchase a new milwakee tool!

Take this advice from an electrician who often drills panels with hole saws… get yourself a few 1/4” ID large fender washers. Slap them on your hole saw pilot bit. You can slam the teeth into the material as hard as you want and they won’t grab the sheet metal at all, as they will just spin on the washer. Pull out, remove washer, finish your hole saw cut. Way easier than trying to squirt little blasts of drill spin to not catch the hole saw and break your wrist.

I actually used 3/4" polyethylene agricultural tubing and ran it between my ribs and the hull of the boat. You can buy a big role and its fairly flexible. You can get two pieces between the ribs and hull. It works very well for the wiring I ran and didn't have to drill any holes. Js for anyone else who may be considering running wiring

Love seeing the absolute step by step in shorter videos like this. You explain it all very well. I'm building up my Milwaukee tools as well....I went with all M18....already got the M18 band saw, and the M18 Rivet gun should arrive any day! Another great video.

@@fireantfishing one comment ahead of time, because your still a ways our from electrical on this boat. However, when you get to running electrical, I would love that to be as in depth and detailed as possible. I can wire a house up no problem, but in trying to draw out the plans for my boat, I am struggling to figure it out and am really looking forward to it on this boat!

I would have put edging on those holes and ran the wiring free of the conduit and kept the conduit for future use, most likely could have just done one conduit run and one set of hoiles for all wiring.

Desalt makes a 90 attachment. It goes into the drill and on the 90 degree end you can put in a drill bit.
