I was 5 when I watched this. It's suitable for this age group.

Good look here! The advantage of a track launch is 1) fuel savings, you don't have to lift your own first-stage fuel (aka delta-vee, from the change in velocity which results from fuel-weight loss) 2) Assuming the 1963 premise that XL5 uses a nuclear rocket for propulsion, you don't have to spray radioactivity all over Space City. 3) Escape velocity is escape velocity; it doesn't care if it's horizontal or vertical 4) easier first-stage maintenance, as the initial launch stage stays on the ground, more or less. The USAF/NASA conducted rocket-sled experiments in the 1950s to test gee-loads on the human body; when the Soviets got wind of this they assumed NASA was going to track-launch, so they developed systems of their own, which they later abandoned as impractical. The track-launch shows up in the classic George Pal scifi movie When Worlds Collide. Good to see The Track is Back.

Brilliantly done and takes me right back to watching the original as a child! On a purely 'safety' aspect, if I was flying on board Fireball, I'd rather have her main engine up and running BEFORE I was catapulted off that sled!!

It must be her accent.Every Anderson show had a catch phrase,FAB,THUNDERBIRDS ARE GO,SIG,STAND BY FOR ACTION,OKAY STEVE.And of course, the best thing about all of these amazing shows were their imagination, that kept myself and millions of kids in this time fascinated, and still do in my sixties.I just found these new versions on KZfaq and I am enjoying them.

It didn't take long to see who the bad guys were based on and I couldn't stop laughing...especially the final scene which confirmed it!

Oh! I see!! So you just took FXL5 and just re-did in in CGI!! How Cool! I can remember watching this when I was a Kid and loving it! Most of my friends had the XL5 toy ship and I was so bloody jealous! One friend had the XL5 the Stingray and the Supercar!! If you like this, May I suggest "Star Trek Aurora"!!?? It's EXCELLENT! It takes place in the Star Trek TOS time period but it focuses on Kara and her Vulcan Friend, T'ling and their vessel Aurora. A couple of privateers who make their living by hauling cargo on the outer edges of Federation Space. Unfortunately there are only 2 episode. The 2nd one features the infamous Harry Mudd!!

The Old Girl could've done with an upgrade and refit in these days of anti-grav thrusters and warp/hyperdrives. Also shields and particle-beam weapons, and better proximity sensors, no? It strikes me that XL 9's pilot had a couple of other, um, things on his mind than to watch the monitors, hmmm?😋

Their extra vehicular activity system uses a lot of fuel, but fails to accelerate them all the time, even though it is always on.

This is brilliant, and should definitely be on ITV. However the end credits are partly masked out by the links to other videos.

Thanks for this. Fireball has always been my favourite since I was about 8 or 9 years old (I'm 66 now).Griselda has has some cosmetic surgery since then and by the look, implants too. The sexist remarks made by Steve are hilarious now in the 21st century. At least you put helmets on them when they go outside the ship but they never had them or pressure suits in the original show, the oxygen pills must have been miracle workers. Commander Zero talks to the XL9 pilot like it's his fault he had to return to Earth.

I became conscious around the time Thunderbirds started, which was pretty much the epitome of Supermarionation. It's great to see a re-imagining of its forbears!

Wow just saw your animated version of Fireball XL5. Great achievement. I have been working on a 14" puppet music video series for about 3 years now and have not yet to make my first episode, but I'm hoping this 2023 will be the opening season. Don't have anyone working with me yet, but I have made a staging area in a 11x17 room with a stage, lighting, cameras and many other props to make it a great series. Got my video cameras set in different locations with remotes so I'm hoping I can capture the action and fun for years of fans to come. Thanks for the inspiration...

Great job on this color reproduction. I have just finished watching Fireball XL5 on TUBI. Great show for its time. I am now watching Supercar on TUBI as well.

Back again in 2023, and really enjoying it still. Also, promoted your talent to Jamie Anderson, of Anderson Entertainment, in the hopes you get together and revive XL5 and other series of Gery Anderson, in CGI.

I never knew they made a CGI version of the fireball. I must have been about 6 when I first saw it in the early 60s, What I get now is the humour of the show, especially between commander zero and lieutenant 90. where these the original voice recordings from original shows or just very talented voice artists impersonating the originals?

Kind of an.....adult.....version of the show.

Other than Dr. Venus getting a couple extra attractions, I don't see the point of remaking this...

I love this XL5 series. I am not against the erratic movements of the characters, because it is a tribute to these pioneers of the time. I like Venus, I like the fact that she is often in rather liberal civilian clothes (Including her bikini!) I also liked the parody of Boris and Natacha. Another of my favorites. I imagine putting on a dress similar to Natasha's as Griselda's costume wouldn't be practical for her. In short, I would like their return (Boris with his hat and Griselda this time in a dress) I also liked seeing another female character (a wicked girl in an attractive outfit (bikini)). Any other episode with female characters, either good or bad, would be appreciated. In short, very good and magnificent work. Bravo.

Loved it. Great episode and so realistic looking. Also the story was actually believable.

Haven’t seen Fireball XL5 since it first aired in the early sixties as a small boy and in Black and White, Brilliant to see it in colour and updated it takes me back, the later Anderson shows appear but Fireball XL5 has been neglected 😩, this episode is the best yet and full length am looking forward to the next one, Thanks for all your efforts it is appreciated and have enjoyed seeing Fireball XL5 again.
