Sweden has suffered one of the hottest and dryest summers since they started taking records. On this context Portugal offered help to their request providing 2 out of the 8 Air Tractor Fireboss we operate in Portugal for wild fire supression. As it is something unusual we got many questions regarding the aircraft and its perfromance we kindly have been replying, but I believe this video explains better to the unspecilized public how it works from the pilot point of view.
It shows one of the missions we were assigned to close to Örebro near a big TV antenna. Scooping point to refill water was Nora Lake. Fire was declared under control after a few hours and 100 drops were performed between the 2 planes. Local fire brigades were happy with our support and likewise for us, it was a pleasure to contribute with our machines and expertise

Great technical flying skills for others peoples lives and property!!! We we there at the time so we’ve seen it with our own eyes. Thank you guys, great contribution to the pilots, ground crews, staff and the Swedish authorities. Just live and survive to fly another day...... From a fellow pilot and his family from Lindesberg commun.

4 1/2 hours of flying like that would be amazingly difficult. Even one pass shows very impressive piloting skills, but doing that hour after hour is hard to imagine.

Hola Eder!...Great video and 8nterest8ng footage. I'm a 737 FO and always Dreamed of doing firefighting flying. I want to do my float rating next year and maybe also aerobatics, what else would you recommend before I could try and apply with some of these companies? Do you generally have advice for me, PM me, I'd love your feedback. Otherwise have safe flying and see you in the air ;)

Lukas, I was a mechanic for ten years at Wipaire. (they build the Fire boss) They also have an outstanding seaplane pilot training program.
