You did a really good job on your hair! I do my own reties too. It's great to be able to sit and let someone else do your hair but it's best not to be dependent on someone if possible. Your locs look gorgeous 👌.

I agree with you that small is not always better. That was actually one of the reasons I went with Microlocs over Sisterlocks. My hair is soft and too small would have not been the best for long term health.

I'm so glad I came across your video. I am getting my microlocs installed this weekend, but I plan on doing my own reties. I don't want to have to rely on someone else, work around their schedule, or encounter my loctician wanting to make a major career change, then they're telling me they're no longer doing hair. 🙄 I'm alleviating the issue from the start. These "stylists" will jack up your edges! Obsessed with getting every little bit of hair in a braid or loc not matter how it looks or if they should do it. And hell yes, you can interlock yourself! It's dirt simple.

First of all, your locs are beautiful! And you know you did good GOOD! 🎉 You are absolutely right about it being the stylists’ responsibility to book and time block accordingly. When i was a hairstylist, if there was a client with super thick hair or something that I knew would take longer than my usual time, I would adjust their appointment time slot accordingly for future appointments and the same for a client who it’d take me less time to do. I’m sorry that happened to you, i can only imagine how frustrating it must’ve been as a client. I just started my microloc journey and have been doing my own reties. I was considering going to a salon; after hearing so many horror stories though, I’m scared! 😅 But doing it myself is hard and time consuming, sooo im caught between a rock and a hard plaace😅

Im about 2.5 months in with my seonc retie coming up. I noted to tell my loctician not to do that last tie cause I felt it was too tight after leaving. it didn't feel that tight in the chair. I'll probably do my daughter's hair in a few weeks and maintain myself... I think!

Great job! I took over my retighenings after 4 mos. My sisterlocks are 12 yrs old now. I never looked back. How does a provider double the price without letting you know upfront and expect that to fly? Reties are not Rocket Science. It takes a lot of patience, not an advanced degree. Taking back our power.

You did a great job. I went to get my microlocs done. Paid $650 + tip and this girl just twisted my hair. So I asked her if she was going to interloc my hair after she finished my twist and she said no, I would have to come back 4-5 weeks and that’s when she would loc it. I felt so robbed bc I’ve been doing my own mini twist for months. Me being me I interloc my own hair and she made my twist to big.

Did you tell your Locktition directly how you feel? I've found that some hairstylist adjust their prices according to their pockets. If they got a bill that's coming up, they try to raise those prices up and I don't like that either 🤬🤬🤬

Beautiful! I started my micro locs myself over a month ago, i posted a video, check it out friends. I just bleached & dyed it this week and did my first retire myself. Loving it, haven't counted it but am guessing around 500 locs
