@@92844m Save your illogical analogies and faux outrage for someone else. It’s not about whom I choose to respect or not respect, entitlement or any other term you are throwing in the vain hope that any of these accusatory arguments will stick. What has eluded you is that the police officers watch tourists throughout every day and act when they feel they are seeing inappropriate behaviour or hearing inappropriate comments or possibly harassment being directed at the soldiers. It’s not about what you or I think. It’s about what the police officers are seeing and hearing. What the boys and the police officer were saying isn’t audible on the video. As I stated previously, the fact that the police officer felt the need to intercede says it all. They were not behaving appropriately and giving them a pass for their behaviour is not acceptable. In the last week KZfaq has pointed me to a cluster of King's Guard videos. All have had some sort of interaction with the police. Most are nothing burgers, for some reason you have multiple people and they laugh or say something, it freaks the police and the people filming this out. My worry is the people are losing their freedom of speech, If you're asking them to leave because they laughed, Where will it go from there.

@ShenandoahTim2 ай бұрын
@@migdaliarivera8365 I do have a problem with my comment, i'm viewing this through the lens of an American, which is wrong, as this is the UK As disrespect is not unlawful, nor against any regulation. It is in the eye of the beholder. At home, I would look at the kids and shake my head. I would not be incensed like people are here. I would see it as them violating some unwritten rule of conduct. Disrespect of the military wouldn't even enter my mind. The idea of a civilian showing deference to a person in the military while they conduct their job isn't in our psyche. They are subordinate to us, not we to them. If a police officer tried to remove the kids and they hadn't violated the law or regulation, the officer would be called to task. We don't have an equivalent to this in the US. The closest thing we have is an honor guard in a graveyard where we have a war(s) memorial called the tomb of the unknown soldier, but there, like in the UK, the area of a tomb has its own rules. Outside of the tomb, or a funeral, the military serving in the capacity of an honor guard, simply doesn't interface with the public. We have uniformed 'secret service' that protect the White House, but that's full melee combat everyday.

@92844m2 ай бұрын
@@ShenandoahTimThis is how it is in England. The entitled, older generation simply don't like the younger generation, and they then wonder why the younger generation don't always like the older generation. We still have 'snobs; here, nowhere near as many as we did some decades ago, as we've weeded them out, mostly, but there are still the very old who would like nothing more than to eradicate young people. There is a very serious problem with this in the UK, and it's getting worse. Luckily, these very old, nasty people won't be around very much longer and all will be well then. Let's look forward to this. PS. Imagine this happening in America? You know yourself that all hell would break loose if cops and the public intervened at every chance!
