My preschool had frozen sponges for ice packs and they’d let you pick the color if you got hurt. I threw myself down many a staircase just to get a frozen purple sponge. Also still worth it.

Love watching all these videos. We started watching this KZfaq channel years ago because my husband is a firefighter and he got us all hooked. I just recently watched him pin my second son’s Fire Fighter badge on his chest after he passed all his tests and can now go out on the rig. He’s been a paramedic for a few years, but really wanted to be a Firefighter like his dad. My middle son has his EMT and is just beginning his Paramedic internship. The best people I’ve ever known. The station had all the family members of the station there to celebrate the two young men getting their badges that day. It’s an amazing, terrifying, heart stopping, we got your back life. Also, LOVE THE COFFEE!!

The patch is made of leather. The helmets are made of plastic and they will melt if in a high heat situation for extended periods of time. I’ve seen it happen on the fire ground before.

It’s kind of a badge of honor when your helmet gets charred in a fire. Of course, that’s ONLY if it’s actually fighting a fire. Some younger guys will try and fake it like this.

You could try volunteering at your local fire department and see how it feels. Work your way from there ya know Edit: that’s what got me into firefighting in the first place. After about a year of volunteering I thought to myself: "I absolutely love this, and I can go make a living off this“ so here I am today. Working hard and pushing myself to become a firefighter for my local career department.
