Please listen to the older guys on the job, I'm seeing these new very young officers with no experience with the attitude we are going to do this my way. 26 Year chauffeur on one of our 14 truck crews in my city, to this very date my Captain will look at me and ask what do you think.... Good luck brother and grats on your promotion..

Came across this…I am not a firefighter but what a great talk. Reminds me of a mentor of mine said we don’t work to see what we will get but who we are of service to. That’s where true joy comes from our jobs. The rest takes care of itself.

All the speeches and peep talks in the world won't change a person's Work Ethic or performance. When the tunnel vision kicks in and Zombie mode takers over, you are who you are. The best intensions also mean nothing if you can't get the job done correctly. What he should have focused on is Proper Water Application, Safety and the Responsible attitude that fire fighters need.

"Things are being done based on the people making the equipment not the ones wearing it." Similar problem the military often encounters. some engineer's got fanciful ideas for technology, not realizing everything that hardware gets subjected to or what people really use it for. That's why you see a lot of government contractor work go to total waste.

I stopped watching after I noticed he did not include ems in the murders. ems people were murdered as well but not mentioned WHY? I have been a emt since 1988 and in the fire department as well ems is never mentioned. every one that I know in nyc ems would know how this feels . I think you have to be on the job to understand this

@@thewalkingmonkey3170 You sure as hell don't need to be a genius to be a window breaker and water squirter! To do Any job well you need a Strong Work Ethic which people at That LOW end of the American work force Don't Have and 99% of these fire videos Prove that!

@@justinthyme8931 Nope! Someone who was Never a Follower and can see right through the bullshit and childishness. That's all his speech was. Fire fighters, I was a Third Generation Fire Fighter, are mostly window breakers and water squirters and children who didn't want to grow up and have to work for a living. They liked being looked at as Heroes Just for Joining Up, Dressing Up and Showing Up. A good job to them never enters their minds. "The owner has insurance, don't they?" Menial Labors doing a smelly, hot, cold, wet back breaking JOB! Now, with that said, if you do the Job while Thinking and caring and have a Strong Work Ethic, you can be called a Skilled Laborer. How, where and when you break a window or apply water makes all the difference. Most of the departments leaders have no clue what the job is and should be. These videos Prove that. How are the FFers going to perform correctly if the leaders don't? Fire Fighting is Not Rocket Science. The Most science background you need you picked up in grade school. High pressure to low pressure. Heat rises and cold falls. Hose water Can push fire deeper into the structure if it block the only pressure release location but the water will Still wet down the burning material and eliminate the flames fast. Steam will go out that same pressure release location. Vertical Venting is the tactic of ignorant fools who get off on it. Just the fact that so many departments use it, proves the leaders have no clue. Vent the fire room window and put Tank Water directly on the burning material from the outside Before an entry team can finish dressing and get the door open. Here is some bad fire fighting videos and mostly the type of people that join up. kzfaq.info/sun/PLkp0E1ao1XEzisVYZe0IOkO6ZtHzMKoe6 kzfaq.info/sun/PLkp0E1ao1XExHfb5WojXouf_CNJAvHuhg Some competent fire fighting! kzfaq.info/sun/PLkp0E1ao1XEzVPjO25G1-RKOlj9Xlgfzt The way to approach any fire and eliminate the threat fast and safely. kzfaq.info/sun/PLkp0E1ao1XEzg384QZ4ovMA_6P7gCY3nJ The ridiculousness of Vertical Venting. kzfaq.info/sun/PLkp0E1ao1XEy2uMomAtjWfScRFcCUmwwv I have plenty more proof of Good and Bad fire fighting.

@JB91710
@JB91710 5 жыл бұрын
I don't know where to begin. Really, I don't. Nice Pep Talk. Sounds good but it isn't reality. Maybe 5% of America's fire fighters can actually Act on what he said. The rest are followers and watchers not doers. Lawn and Fountain Statues. but in no way, Real Fire Fighters. You can see it in 99% of the videos on KZfaq. Joining Up, Dressing Up and Showing Up account for a great photo shoot but that's about it. It's called. "Walking the Talk." I'm surprised to hear him say how important it is to get water on the fire when the FDNY is the Slowest water applicators in the country. Maybe this is a New strategy for them. The JOB of a fire fighter is to, "Stop the Threat as Fast and Safe as possible while using the Least amount of Water." Think about what that would take. 10 years, Third Generation, I've been a Thinker and leader, not a Follower, all my life. That's why I can see right through the bullshit and can see reality. Do you think a bunch of carpenters or floor sweepers would get pep talks like this? How about office workers? Most people Need to belong and be thought of as heroes. That's why they Follow instead of thinking and challenging the system. Be looked up to just beause they wear a uniform. The average civilian wouldn't know or even look for a competent performance because they need to worship heroes. It's one big merry go round of worthlessness while your stuff burns and they put Your life at risk. Fire fighting is a job and nothing else. It's not a Super Hero club or anything as ridiculous as a "Brotherhood". There is a fire in someone's house. You find what is burning and squirt water on it Occasionally you break windows. No Rocket Science there! The abilities needed are far less than a floor sweeper at a construction site. Menial labor. With that said, if a person THINKS and applies the water Correctly and THINKS before breaking a window to make sure it is near the fire room and you are ready with a charged line to immediately extinguish the fire, then that is called Skilled Labor but it is Labor just the same. The vast majority of Fire Players in the USA are zombies and children with tunnel vision and if you look for it, you can easily see it in these videos. Watch these videos and read my comments and maybe you'll see to. There is Really nothing Brave, Intelligent or Heroic in any of them. Just childish ignorance and stupidity. kzfaq.info/sun/PLkp0E1ao1XEzisVYZe0IOkO6ZtHzMKoe6 kzfaq.info/sun/PLkp0E1ao1XEyglhxetar50BGAuQ5CEoCu kzfaq.info/sun/PLkp0E1ao1XEy2uMomAtjWfScRFcCUmwwv Then watch these videos and study them to compare intelligent fire fighting to the nation's fire Playing. I have a shocking observation for you. The Vast majority of the USA fire departments and especially the FDNY, don't follow these common sense and logical tactics because they make fire fighting Work instead of an adventure like this guy was selling. Fun? Excitement? At the expense of the property owner or the fire fighter's families? That's childishness not professionalism. kzfaq.info/sun/PLkp0E1ao1XEw35c4z-PSM0hoKYiMLpHJC

You should spend less time thinking, and more doing. Have you ever fought a house fire? Crawled on your hands and knees with a deuce n’ a half through a multi thousand sqft structure? How about, heard the blood curdling screams from the mother and father of a 3 year old child, buried within a fully engulfed home and the only hope left, is you and your crew? If you can’t answer yes to any of those, then you have not earned the right to compare a firefighter to an office worker.. let alone bash the fire service in its entirety.
