I LOL'ed when he he said he'd neither ridden the rescue since the Clinton Administration nor touched a patient since 2004. The "air brake" hand comment was classic.

There is a little bit of professional humor in this, but in reality, it isn't funny. EMS is about 75% of a firefighter's job in most jurisdictions, and an engineer is a firefighter, as is a lieutenant, as is a captain. An engineer that feels this way about an essential part of the job should probably retire. Care for people. End of story.
