Thunder birds Are Go.... I loved Thunder birds back in the day. I loved the boxart on this one. I may have to invest in a FireFlash for old times 🎉

The TB2 is available with transparent hull parts so you get to see all that equipment inside. Plus you get a load of pod equipment. Our son has done a great job on that one - lots of (mindless!!) detail to practice dry brush highlights 😂

Looking forward to this kit and diorama and you can't beat a good bit of thunderbirds 😊

Hi Gary, you could do with a set of masks for the windows, that way you could spray the fuselage with gloss varnish and then just mask the windows and spray the fuselage colours. Thanks for the nostalgia trip.

We didn’t have colour until 1970 British relay ,but we did have an early form of remote control ,ME I sat on the floor like alot of little boys do and mum or dad would say turn it over love 😂😂it was a dial not push button too 😊,yes loved trapped in the sky although clouds at 200.000ft mmm 😊,first encounter with old slap head too I’m going a bit thin on top now what with my eyebrows my son calls me the hood 😂😂Gary mate we had the best Tv etc didn’t we great times to be a child. I can remember rushing home from school to watch Fireball XL5 on a black and white telly that took ages to warm up!! I think they had amazing bits of kit in Thunderbirds, Fireflash, the crab Logger lumber machine, the Sidewinder think that looked like a scorpion plus loads of other things. I look fwd to seeing this made up, you need the windows because at 250,000ft your going to be able to see half the world.

Fantastic review Gary, I was 13 when Thunderbirds was first broadcast, great memories. I was lucky enough to find the complete boxset of Thunderbirds in a charity shop some years ago, still watch them occasionally. Must go and get some of these kits just for the fun factor if nothing else.

Gerry Anderson had an amazing imagination! Presumably he predicted that in the year 2000 we would be flying around in planes like that.

Bringing back a lot of memories for a certain age demographic here, Gary. This also happens to include myself. Love how the modelmakers were evidently inspired with BOAC liveried VC-10s of the time. Unmistakable.

I made the models of TB 1,2,3 & 4 but I never ever saw a model of TB5, I did make the mole too

Brings back fond memories. For the windows, you could fill them and add some aftermarket airliner window decals. Would look much better than paint

The decals are duplicated for a reason. The top sheet has decals which go on the top side of Fireflash. There is a scene in the episode though that shows the underside of Fireflash while on the runway and it shows that it has the same diagonal AT2000 markings on the underside of the wings as on the top. It's nice to have spares for some though with the length of them. I guess it was someone being lasy and duplicated more than they needed to fill up space on the second decal sheet.

What an incredible show, I remember it well, almost like the Flintstones and Jetsons being adult cartoons. It's so refreshing to see nostalgic space kits coming out just to change up the building cycle. Being acquainted with the SR 71 in a previous life, the physics of the Fireflash is truly wishful thinking sci-fi wise, but what the heck - although the cockpit does show a bit of the German Lippisch DNA. The one space theme I'd like to build which I think are new releases, are the 2001 space craft. They are quite outside my price range. BTW Gary, after your Me 262 hg3 build I couldn't resist trying their molding technique and have one flying into the colonies - do you get commission 😎

Would be lovely to build one, Gary. I would be tempted to make those windows a bit see-through and add some detail to the cockpit. 😅

Great video Gary, and even though I was born in 1970 it brought back memories.. I was the sentient remote control *lol* especially years later with our first VCR. I was put on the floor to operate it *lol* Regarding the duplicated decals; They're quite long and I suspect the designer also made models and thought 'Those bu**ers are going to fold up!' so gave you a spare set for /when/ they misbehaved :)

Not done that one yet but Thunderbird 2 was a fun build and looks great. Must try and get one of those. The TV series is still watchable with decent stories.

Loving the northern accent “me duck” Kids today don’t know they are born. This video brings back lovely memories. I do fancy a Thunderbird 2 with the T4 but they do seem a bit expensive for what you get. FAB Gary.
