He was right about the grief. It doesn't go away.Serenity showed how much the concept and the cast were loved. They could bring it back today and it would go well, but I guess the cast would be different.

i still love the chemistry between the entire cast of Firefly/Serenity my personal favorite episode would be "Out of Gas" because it has the flashbacks to when Mal met most of the crew and got them to join

Joss said "The pain never goes away". It reminds me of Sammy Davis Jr. when he sang about Bo Jangles' dog dying: "After 20 years he still grieves".

One of the biggest mistakes fox made was cancelling this show! If it could have been released on the Sci-Fi channel, it probably would have lasted much longer. Joss, we grieve with you. R.I.P Ron Glass

I would like to ask what prompted the choice of the name of Jubal Early as the name of the villain in "Objects in Space". Obviously the name of a real confederate soldier in the Civil War and later a legislator but what action or tid-bit of history led to using his name?
@BreakingStarGames
@BreakingStarGames 3 ай бұрын
There was rumor that its to completely separate Firefly as propaganda for the Confederacy. Though anyone with any analytical skills already knows that.

Its good when you havent watch the show. Its just really painfull when characters dies, and the reasones why they are dying is retconing their characters. Its just really painfull to see Nomad priest with military background, diying because he stays on planet for some reasone. And Woosh, my favorite character dies because he werent able to predict consumers(Sorry i dont remember correct name, its something from translation, so i might be wrong) trap and werent good enough pilot? There were literally episode that showed how good he is in this situations. Its just deaths, for deaths. However problem arent only in deaths. The whole thing seems awfull when you remember all characters, like captain that while worried about his ship, puts his team on first place. And overall he is just a good persone, that were dealed a bad hand. Well in Film he is just mean as**ole. That worries only about the ship, and his own life. All other characters too looking like a dull husk of the previous persone. They just resemble somewhat same idea, but dont have the flame. Firefly as series is awesome, but film is quite bad, it were worst idea to rewatch it right after watching all episodes.@@nommyyt

@@expepem189xl3 I disagree but I see your point. To me, the way all the characters were in the movie was a believable progression from the tv show. Book stayed with those people because he's been trying to find his place in the world. That's literally why he's been travelling with the crew. In the time between the movie and the tv show, he found a place he belonged. A place that seemed to have good people who was the Serenity crew's safe harbor in between jobs. What's not believable about that? Wash (my favorite character as well) didn't die because he was a bad pilot. They literally show him being the best pilot in the verse right before that, flying phenomenally well through the spacefight between the Reavers and the Alliance and managing to land his crew safely on the planet despite the damaged ship. With the ship mostly intact as well! He died because he was unlucky. That was all. The spear, the ship accidentally hitting a support beam that flipped it around, the fact that he hadn't yet stood up from his chair -- none of those implied that he was a bad pilot. Only that he was unlucky. If there's anything bad about his death, it's Joss Whedon saying he killed Wash simply because someone needed to die to make the stakes feel dire. It needed to be someone everyone liked. Personally, I didn't like that decision either. But that decision never implied for even a second that Wash was a bad pilot. As for Mal -- it was literally explained in the beginning that the crew had been having an very tough time doing jobs and were barely surviving. The crew looked beaten down and dulled because they were beaten down and dulled by having barely enough money to eat and keep flying. They were all feeling the pressure. And Mal especially so because he's their captain. The crew's wellbeing was his responsibility so he felt the weight of it all more than anyone else. It was a testament to the crew and to Mal that despite how hard it all became, they still saved River and fought to make the truth known to the verse. They were beaten down and feeling despair but they kept fighting. Serenity is the crew's darkest hour. It was reflected in their attitudes, their actions. It was about choosing to keep fighting even when it all looked hopeless.

If i remember right, most of the critical situations already accured in Series, like crew were having barely enough money, and yet Mal still were nice persone. Even dropped job with medicine, only because it was for other people. He was rude from time to time, but it was more like playing strong, instead of actually being rude. Wash were in somewhat simular situation when there were episode in snowy mountain, with soldier that pretended to be dead for some thing that i dont remember, perhaps money. Wash piloted so well, that there werent even a scratch. And yet in Reaver scene in Movie, they got hardly damaged, and therefore almost everyone died. And after that standing still while facing Reavers ship? I understand someone wanted to kill a character just for sake of killing character, but damn, that was like worst way possible. If i am not mistaken there were episode where Book found some nice place to stay, and yet he decided to stay with crew, because he "felt like he needed to be here" or something like that. Basicly because Mal needed guidence and he was nomad over all, isnt it like first things that he was saying in show? I am not talking only about Wash and Book, Keyli too become less of happy spark, and more of dull background. And i am sorry i forgot the name of other dude, he was less active too. Well River and her brother hadded great changes that felt in character, but still, it werent worth it. @@nommyyt
