You can go through your state Fire academy, or call ask local fire districts. Some have their own academy, thats what I did. On my 2nd week of the district academy I was already taking calls. Some Academy's, get you your EMT certification. After the Academy you are a training firefighter for about a year. If your academy also got you your EMT, then you are a firefighter EMT. If your wanting to get your Paramedic, you must apply for a local class, classes can be found at hospitals, fire academy's, and college's. If you got any more questions let me know, hope that helps.
