RCR unveiled Austin Dillon & Ryan Newman's throwback rides for Darlington Raceway. The schemes honor RCR's first Sprint Cup victory which came June 5th, 1983 with Ricky Rudd at the wheel. Rudd joined Childress, Newman and Dillon to share stories from back in the day.

Ricky Rudd is a cool dude, always has been... shit I had RUDD 10 plates on my 83 Trans Am until it caught fire and burned up...... I ran the 10 back in street stocks when I was younger because he ran it, I run the 10 now still in iracing....would love the chance to race and get whooped by him at his local go kart track lol, it'll never happen, great guy, great driver..... respect

Rudd Performance Motorsports was the coolest! What's not to love about the guy? (Asking rhetorically, since we're both superfans) A true racer, competitor and sportsman

My all time favorite driver I grew up rooting for home and was a fan for life after meeting him

Loved that tide car it's always what I associate Ricky rudd with, even though he drove several cars in several schemes and sponsors

@@skooby_doobie_doonkann3334 Haha see I'm younger so I always unfortunately think of him in the #28 car (Sorry Davey!) and also the Wood Bros #21 car.

@@aaronkristofer18 oh for sure. I understand that. I started watching in the 90s so I always associate the drivers with the car they drove when I first started watching...for example, I always associate Gordon with the rainbow scheme, not the flames, for Jarrett, the quality care, not UPS

Ricky Rudd laid the groundwork for RCR. It's a shame he wasn't part of the long term plan. Understandably so with Earnhardt waiting in the wings to make NASCAR history. I don't think this thing would have happened without Rudd. I think Rudd needs to be in the HOF. He certainly was a great competitor and he drove for legendary teams and stayed relevant for over 2 decades. Rudd is a true NASCAR gem! Put this man in that HOF he checks all the boxes!
