This 400 years of Apartheid is totally wrong. It took 180 years for the white settlers to reach the Orange / Gariep river & the Kei River to reach the Bantu nations. The Freestate was only entered en-mass by settlers out of the Cape after 1836 (less than 160 years pre 1994) & after King Shaka's Defaqane Wars. Towns & Cities first had to develop & be built. Johannesburg was barely 100 years old in 1994.

Why does Botswana have a better economy than SA? Here's the reason: when Sir Seretse Khama got in power his policy was you get on the basis of you skill and merit not skin. Period.
