I respectfully disagree on the top part - I think there was palpable interest. If the Giants move on from DJ after this season we will know they wanted a QB in one of the best classes we’ve seen in awhile. I mean, why wouldn’t they?

Why can't we have a team that's competitive? Seems some teams in the NFL are always competitive, even in rebuilding years, like the Steelers, Cowboys and Green Bay. Not the Giants, when they are bad, it's lasts for decades.

27 yrs old at RB isn’t the number you should be worried about after 1200 carries in NFL and 700 in college along with not playing a full NFL schedule since his rookie season those numbers you should be concerned with

@@boxingtrav2473 they will get a comp pick for him next season so at the moment it looks like nothing and signing Saquon a RB that is one of the lowest valued positions would prevented the Giants from be able to sign Burns …….all these yrs with Saquon for how great he was they ain’t win nothing so paying a RB 12.5-13 mil when you have plenty of holes to fill makes no sense and it hasn’t worked the last 5 years so let’s keep doing the same dumb shit and expect to win

@jeffreyworthy5384 Was Saquon the problem? No. They failed to build a line, got rid of their number one receiver and made an average QB their franchise QB. Do you know what Barkley will do with a competent team. This will get ugly for the Giants

DJ got ruined by poor OL play . The amount of hits he's taken is not sustainable for any QB . People think you can just walk off a hit everytime a 300+ bull pounds you to the ground. Last season showed you how quickly he deteriorated after just week 3.

@@BrutalShoG Oh I agree the OL played into it as well. But you can't deny their horrible play calling and offensive scheme was dated and didn't fit DJ or anyone anymore.

yeah. I mean if our offensive line was even RANKED say 20th there might be some conversation. But when you are ranked DEAD last and this historically bad, I doubt any QB including Mahomes makes it through the season. We wouldn't be the only team starting someone from the practice squad half way through the darn season.

How do we actually know that he bid on himself? There was no hard knocks last year right? He could very well have gotten information that that’s what the market for DJ was going to be. He knew more or less what the market was and he gave him an incentive Structured offer that allowed him to get out after two years if he wanted. There was more guarantees to get him to sign the deal. If you honestly think that no one would have offered him any money after his performance two years ago and in the playoffs, then you’re not really looking at it objectively. He didn’t get that much money for a quarterback. Let’s not compare his contract to Saquon because they are two different positions.

It’s been two years. He will most likely get four to do a proper rebuild. Be patient.
