Well, my firestick is completely unresponsive and I was hoping this video would show how to factory reset from the remote. I can’t even get into the firestick and have a “no signal” on Tv screen. Yes, I’ve tried all the change adapters, change cables, unplug Tv and press the Tv on/off for 30 seconds, etc. I guess it’s just dead.

@Lionel e king the remote would not respond to nothing. Zero, zilch. I unplugged and plugged it back in, and still got no response. I eventually just unplugged the dang thing and used one from another bedroom.

BLACK SCREEN? The above video is Great if your Firestick is working mine showed a completely black screen. Nothing on my TV screen just a black screen. This meant that much as I wanted to I couldn't Follow the steps suggested in the video content above. I ended up simply unplugging my firestick, waited one minute and turned it back on again to find it was all up and running again. The Black screen was gone and everything is working again. "Happy days😅" I hope this even more simple fix helps even more people 👍

Mine was black screen, occasionally, i would catch the logo flash up before going black. This worked for me: Unplug it for a minute both from power and HDMI, plug it back in, push the Select and Play/Pause buttons until the Fire logo flashes up (about fifteen seconds). Wait a minute or two to see if it worked. Repeat. I just got the White Fire logo or White Fire then color Fire logo, followed by a black screen. Mine came up with "Loading" on the screen on the fourth try. I had come so close to giving up, but something told me to try again. It is likely that this includes steps that are unnecessary, but it is what worked for me. Hopefully I don't have the opportunity to figure out a faster method. I hope this works for others.

Although I accept this article is well-intentioned and has clearly helped lots of people having problems with their device, for me, with a device that simply says "The Home screen isn't available", it effectively translates into English as "Access the menu system you can't access and select one of the options you can't access from the menu you can't access" :(

I now have 3 Firesticks that will not start up. Fire TV logo just stays on screen forever. All 3 are older (no power button). One (occasionally) does start up, but when I try to open apps, it kicks me out to home screen. I tried to reset to factory seetings. Got a message that the stick would power off/back on, but it just froze. Weird how 2 of the 3 sat idle for months (one in an outdoor screened proch), but the 3rd one was my go-to on the main TV. Should I chalk it up to "old Firesticks are no longer supported"? Kinda stinks

My firestick is literally stuck on boot. It either does not turn on, or boots with the splash screen, and just sits there,quite literally forever. I left it on for over a week once just to make sure. It never went to the main menu.

One of my firesticks won’t even boot. I tested the power adapter, and it’s good giving out 5v. I tested the HDMI cable, it’s fine. I tested the HDMI extension cable, it’s fine too. It’s now down to the firestick itself, but don’t know how to make it boot so I can restart, de-register, or even reset it to factory default. I guess Amazon put a self destruct mechanism so it won’t last that long. Sad. 😩

Press back with arrow sign and right on the circle pad at the same time for 10 to 15 sec. It will reboot back to original settings. Hope that helps anyone having same issue with mine settings wont even pull up

I had an issue with my Firestick and their Silk browser after deleting it…. After cleaning up my files I couldn’t reinstall… Getting a Popup to update my device… It was on the latest update… I contacted Amazon and they told me just to do a factory reset…. I have a fully loaded KODI that took me so much time to get it perfect 😍 So, after watching your video about Firestick issues, I used method 2 and reregistered… Perfect 👍 Did loose my dear KODI THANKS 🙏🏻

Dont turn it off, just put tv on firestick then put fs to sleep, screen goes black but it’s on when you push remote. It will always be ready for you…

When the fire stick is turned on it immediately goes to the sign-in page since I already have an account but the remote will not respond to fill in the info. Yes I have checked the batteries and I have two fire sticks and neither one of them will work and are both stuck in this mode. My firestick freezes, well the program Im watching freezes often and its definitely not my internet. Its a pain having to restart my stick when this happens. Any suggestions

I can start and use mute and volume buttons, but nothing else is working. It will not move.

This is my issue too. I can't toggle through any settings because none of the buttons are working besides the power button and volume buttons.🙄

You don't explain how to get the remote and firestick working if there has been a complete reset. I bought a firestick from my friend who did the reset and I can't seem to get it to pair or to work. I get the FireTV screen with the language choices to set it up but the remote won't work so I can't do anything....do you have any solution(s)? This is the newest firestick 4k.
