Good vid mate. I have a Fiskars X27 and a 4/12 Kelly. I’ll use the Kelly any day, but the Fiskars is still a great splitter.

Great vid. Getting a load of jarrah from the bush has something therapeutic about it. I especially enjoy the vintage aspect and using the old tools.

Yea I like the Fiskars, we use them at work but I also like my Axe and Splitter “Hart” . It was sold by Bunnings but it looks like they now sell Fiskars 🤣. I can’t find Hart Axes any more, looks like they are no longer made.

Great video cobber , great to see another person who knows how to slab a block down to amore manageable sizes . I've got good collection axes from ones bought from Bunnings or Mitre 10 and axe heads I've found out scrub some with metal detector and others just sitting out middle of nowhere along some old wood cutting lines here in the goldfields around Kalgoorlie. Certainly normal Aussie styleoldschool axes , couple Fiskars and a Bunnings block splitter. I've taught my sons axes , uses etc and also using chainsaws safely and correctly. Great video mate ,thoroughly enjoy watching them and enjoy the fishing ones for that most wonderful fish Redfin Perch, plus the yabbie videos as well. Cheers and best continued success with more video's in the future. All the best from Kalgoorlie Boulder mate.

The fiskars was designed as a fallers axe because you can use it to wedge trees into the back cut Plumb and Kelly are great mate the best just like our Tassie axemen the best in the world , look up David Foster he’s a man mountain the best chopper of all time and he lives close by us cheers here from Tassie , keep up the good work young Leigh

Cracker video mate. Its my second video ive watched after your 3 Fiskars axe review. Im from New Zealand so good to watch someone closer to home. I can suggest on using a hookaroon/pickaroon for picking up split wood off the ground and into ya ute. I made mine out of an old PLUM axe head. Defiantly saves the back. I got the Fiskars x27 for christmas. I havent swung an axe in 9 years after expanding my firewood business with log splitters. My eye cam back in a couple of swings and loving the axe. Defiantly get a good core workout. Keep up the solid work mate! CHEERS!

I know what you mean there mate, we had the same as you a Brayma, I grew up with a wood fired water heater system. Myself being now 55 I remember that wonderful wood heater stove and water heater all in one. Grew up in far north Queensland and we used Ironbark gum and normal red gum.

Bought an X27 Fiskars based on your and other reviews and went and got a 1/2 ton of Jarrah last week.. I reckon I split it all in about half the time than my old $20 Saxon piece of junk. Would love a Fiskars head on a wooden handle though, that would be perfect.

Awesome mate! Good to hear! Yeah the x27 is a whole different animal! I think with a 25 year warranty you won’t have to worry too much about breaking the handle! Worst was only need to buy 2 or 3 in a life time 😂

Really enjoy your firewood vids Lee , I’ve had a fiscars splitter for a few years now and rate it as an easy to buy option that does the job . The Jarrah looks like fine firewood mate , how does it compare with the Aussie eucalypt as far as processing and burning ? …..yew. Would love to see a vid on different types of timber and how you rate them to work with .

Thanks mate appreciate it. Jarrah is the best wood around this area it’s really hard, burns long and very clean and leave bugger all ash! Some people get redgum or wandoo but ya can’t beat some good jarrah

Hi Lee good video Sir, I am across the pond and us a 4 1/2lb ELWELL with a 30 or 32" handle. I tried a 36" handle and thats too long for the rounds that I am splitting. I split between 8 and 12" and use a block or tree stump still rooted which works really well. I chop a tree leaving a higher stump and split the rouns on that. I found Mauls too heavy and not necessary.

Another great video mate. I can't stand the real fat profile "block splitters" especially in knotty gum. A decent cutting axe head seems a lot easier once you get your swing sorted out. Never tried the fiskers tho.. keen to give one a run!
