Fireworks Factory Tour in Malta

Жыл бұрынWe got a private tour of Saint George's Fireworks Factory in Ħal-Qormi, Malta! There are 35 fireworks factories in Malta, which is insane for the small island group, whose population is 519k as of 2021. Each factory only produces products to be used by the nearby villages. None of the product is exported from the country. This specific factory produces fireworks from July through May to be used each June in their feasts. Depending on where you are in Malta, most of the feasts occur between May and September. The feasts celebrate the localities' saint, in this case, Saint George. All materials used in producing the fireworks are sourced from the island, except for ball shell casings. Grape vines are harvested to turn into charcoal, then used to make black powder. Animal feed bags are used for pasting shells. All of the fireworkers in this factory are volunteers. It is common to see sons whose father and grandfather were also fireworkers. Oddly enough, they all may have their own formulas for effects that are not shared with other factories or even inside their own factory!

I highly recommend it! I would love to go back and target some of these villages' feasts, but I was there during the International Fireworks Festival and highly recommend going during that time. The weather perfect for fireworks!

It is not a fireworks factory. It is a fireworks club. Some guys play golf and this guys build fireworks. I love the daylight multibreak shells. This Timing and sound is fantastic. Sometimes the smoke is colored.

Thank you man! I travel quite a bit, but most of the time it isn't much to do with fireworks, or I don't have time to record the footage. This was my third firework factory from a different country.

Malta makes one of the Best professional Display fireworks in the World & everything is handmade for every Single cylinder Cocos Shells to hemisphere Cocos shells they are all Hand Made they don't use no machines to make there Cocos shells in Malta so when ever you see there Product in The sky its all way Top Best Quality

Haha! My best bet would be starting to manufacturer in a club like at the Pyrotechnic Guild International Convention. They have classes to build whatever you'd like.

Sweet inside look, It seems like the Chinese don't make professional canister shells. I found some three inch but nothing bigger than that Everything's a ball shell

You're correct, all larger shells are ball shells from China. I'm guessing it has something to do with the mass production aspect.

Hi Joel Robinson, My dream is to make a Maltese Fireworks show in USA on 4th of July which consists Ground and Arial fireworks but we are to far, Maltese Fireworks Factory like to present a show but it's to expensive for us to deliver this show, but you never know maybe we will find a good US sponsor one day, you never know, that's all the Maltese Fireworks pyro's wish
