So going forward, if you guys do check out any Persona 5 story stuff, I would honestly recommend checking out Persona 5 Royal. Persona has a habit of releasing a game. And then a few years later, they do a re-release of the game but with added content. That's basically what Persona 5 Royal is. New characters. Fleshed out old characters. An entirely new section. Not that the old version of Persona 5 is bad by any means. Royal just does everything the base game does and better though.

@@stuckincollege1778 Persona 3 is also about coming to terms with and accepting the deaths of those you love. Such as in the case of the protagonist having lost both parents in a car crash prior to the start of the game, and Yukari having also lost her father at a young age. ....Hell, it's that similarity between them that causes Yukari to approach the protagonist so readily early on (much to the chagrin of the other male students who all have a crush on Yukari!), she sees them as a "kindred spirit" who can understand her grief and pain (and vice-versa) so she tries reaching out to them.

Glad to see you're getting real interested in Persona 5! I will say there are two versions of the main game, that being Persona 5 and Persona 5 Royal. I, personally, suggest playing through Persona 5 Royal because it has everything the original Persona 5 has and more. It's kind of like an expansion of the base game with a much better experience. 😊

@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGamesdon't listen to them, just play whatever Verison u can, persona 5 is a complete experience without royal, royal is basically add new story and and character but it not necessary to understand the story of the game, they are basically just add on, persona fans have a habit of gatekeeping people of telling them off of whatever Verison someone bought and telling them that not the best Verison play that other thing u didn't buy, so nope all persona game are complete experience without there updated version, the updated version just gives u more stuff but it completely possible to enjoy the game with the original game

@@john_7000 We are just saying we would suggest to play P5R, I feel like it adds more then “just add on” it makes a lot of quality of life changes, a lot more of the game is voice acted, they add some new wonderful characters, they make existing characters better, they even added a a whole new third semester. The game is just a whole lot more polished It is not about gatekeeping, if somebody is going to play Persona 5 I want them to have the best time possible and I truly believe that Persona 5 Royal gives that, which is why I recommend it.

Persona 5’s Phantom Thieves are one of my favorite groups in fiction. If you guys decide to play this game, I highly recommend you pick up Persona 5 Royal, which has expanded content and an entire new story after the ending.

I'd watch this again and future videos in the Royal version. More to see, cleaner animation, and badass changes to the original. And side note, don't worry about the stealth, as long as you take cover without anyone seeing you, you are completely invisable, even if you turn the cornor in front of them. :P

One thing I will also suggest that can REALLY deepen your appreciation for the story: know the basics of the tarot Major Arcana. Each of your Confidants is assigned to one of those cards, and each card in P5 is an altered version of the same card in the Marseille Tarot. Seeing the differences, and understanding the symbolism, will give you a LOT of information the game may not come right out and say. Totally optional, of course, but the amount of small details that say big things in this game, is staggering.

18:30 In reference to that "other world", the prosecutor made. The foots steps are a subtle reminder that you sre in that "other world". This is one of the best games I've ever played. The soundtrack to this game is absolutely amazing!

Persona 5, LET"S GO! This game is such a good story. If you guys decide to go through the entirety of the story (cutscenes or playing the game), you're in for a massive treat. Of course, Persona 5 Royal is the complete version of the game's story. If you're looking for the full in-movie or game experience, then that's your go-to. Can't wait to see more if you guys decide to continue with the series!

One of the main though lines in Persona 5 is those in power taking advantage of those that don't. Joker (and all the playable characters) are just teenagers that don't have much say in their lives and are used by "rotten adults" for their own aims. Who's going to listen to a kid. Persona 5 is very much about the powerless finding strength in each other to change the world (and get a little revenge). In terms of the assault Joker stepped up to. It was a very powerful man he pushed down. A report of him trying to assault a woman would hurt his image and it's "amazing" what money and threats can do to make people be quiet or look the other way.

Persona 5 has inspiration to our real world and with actual people had been hurt in japan for what’s happened, and the persona series has it thing where it takes more thought into phycology with its people in the game as well, its an interesting thing to play or at least watch the story.

There is a Weiss vs Mitsuru death battle for more info on Persona 3 if youre interested in checking it out. As far as the world goes its primarily based on real life, with the supernatural elements being a new thing to the characters. So youd be in the same shoes as the protagonist in thay regard.

I am so happy to see you guys doing Persona 5 again! I really highly suggest you guys to do a playthrough of Persona 5 Royal - the enhanced edition of Persona 5; either as a longplay recording or live-stream on the channel! It's my favorite game of all time and I think that the amount of depth this game has to the world-building, characters and story is unparalleled in the gaming industry, and are elements that you both seem to really appreciate in games/stories! It's truly a one-of-a-kind experience that isn't comparable to any other game out there and 100% worth every single minute you can spend on it!

Persona 5 Royal is one of my absolute favorite games ever, I cannot recommend it enough. If you do plan on checking it out (which I think you really should) make sure you get the Royal version. It is a "definitive" edition of the game with many improvements and Quality of life changes. It also added a fairly decent sized chunk to what was originally the end of the game and also has a bunch of new stuff through out the vanilla content of the game. Just be prepared for a 100+ hour experience. Also the soundtrack is top notch!

Hi I enjoyed your reactions a lot and I am very happy you started to react to the actual story of Persona 5. If you two are interested in the story you can continue to react to Persona 5 Royal version instead of the original one showed in this video. They added new characters and plots in the Royal version. And for your question about the things following Jokers' feet, I think they were added in P5. They added a lot of things to P5 to make its art more stylish. The previous mainline game in the series was Persona 4 released originally in 2008, it got its enhanced Persona 4 Golden version in 2012. Persona 4 is a game made 16 years ago so it does not look as good as Persona 5, but Its story is better in my opinion. Anyways, I think Persona 5 royal would be a great start for you to get into this series. Thank you for your hardworks on the videos, hope to see you two react to more Persona contents.

Been a long time since I played P5/Royal. I forgot how great the opening segment was and just how quickly it draws you in and keeps you wanting more. It would be cool to see you guys either react or play the entire game but it's like an 80ish hour investment. Absolutely worth it though to meet and learn about all these different characters and that sense of accomplishment when it all resolves in the end

I highly suggest you watch Persona 5 Royal instead of Persona 5, it has more story, more characters, better visuals at times, more fun features, and it’s overall a better experience than the original Persona 5, in P5R there was actually a girl that showed up to help in the casino, which obviously didn’t happen here, if you do more reactions you should definitely switch to Royal.

The feet thing is explained about 1-2 hours into the game. I don’t want to spoil but it has become on of my favorite games. I started playing it 2 weeks ago and got sucked in and then I saw you guys were reacting to it. I highly recommend either a watch of a playthrough or a playthrough (definitely a playthrough since there’s so much choice in the story)

One thing Royal improved was you can enable or disable auto play for the dialog, clicking every line like this player did in the original version can get annoying. In the original you could enable auto dialog in the settings but Royal made it more user friendly so you can do it at any time.

The problem with persona is that its hard to market. Persona story is complicated dealing with deep themes and situations. Its just kind of hard to hook you in 30 seconds or a minute or two.

Makes sense, but did you see the Fire Emblem Three Houses trailers? They do a good job explaining the world in those without making it too dry or boring. Feels like Persona could try something like that for their games to hook newbies like us 🙂😀

Persona 5 Is my all-time favorite game, it just hits all the right places for me. The style of the game, the characters, and just how damn stylish the Phantom Thieves are on the awesome journey they're going through to fight for justice. As others mention, Persona 5 Royal is a more "Complete" version, and if you do dive further in and get into Persona 5 and like it, I highly recommend the spin-offs with Strikers and Tactica. But yeah, as for now, I hope you enjoy what ya saw, and I would love to see more P5 stuff on the channel

After watching this u should watch the Persona 5 Royal beginning, its so different and with alot more voice acting(and new characters) wich makes watching this quite interesting. P5R is essentially the ultimate edition of the game and while the base game is by no means bad Royal fleshes out some stuff from P5 while also adding ALOT of new content and streamlining it exstremely well. Do keep in mind that this is a VERY big game(160+ hours) but SO worth playing it.

There are a game and a anime for Persona 5, i recommend, if you guys wanna play, to play the Persona 5 Royal editition, its the complete version of the game. Persona is a very good game and the fans only care about the 3, 4 and 5. each game come with a diferent ideology. The 3 game is about accepting death, the 4 game is about accepting youself and the 5 game is about impose your will against the society.

Play it. I feel as if y'all will be sucked in for every minute. A suggestion is that if you do decide to delve deeper into the world of Persona 5 you play Persona 5 The Royal. It has additional content and characters along with an intriguing storyline. Fingers crossed that you decide to take the plunge. It's my absolute all to e favorite game. I e played it four times. 🤗🤗

The whole magenta thing is unique to this game an is never fully explained. Now if you want to play the game as a few people have said Playing Persona 5 Royal is the way to go. The reason why is because while Persona 5 is a great story as is Royal expands on the story but it also makes the bosses drastically different from how they are in the original game. Some are harder some are easier, from someone who has sunk well over 200 hours into the game I can tell you that this game is amazing from a story telling aspect and has some pretty deep messages in it.

Even in the stories themselves, it is a bit of a slow burn. Persona 5 does do the "in the middle of the story" thing to pull you in, though. I would be interested in seeing you guys look into the whole story, though that's one heck of a commitment, even if you're just watching the major story bits. Either way, nice to see that the beginning at least intrigued you guys.

All the persona games have a pretty slow opening of teaching you the mechanics before you can really start doing whatever you want. They're all awesome, though. I would say if playing a Persona I in your future, which note these games are LONG, I'd recommend P4 is the best starting point. Which is about a supernatural serial killer oOooOOooh. Mainly because the formula of the "modern" Persona games accumulated into Persona 5. Without rambling forever, the spark notes are P3 has the one randomized dungeon that goes on for 250 something floors + boss story events. P4 has the unique dungeons personalized to the theme of whoever it's based around. P5 has both of those, but then with the added mechanics of P5 and the unique dungeons are a lot more involved, less combat focused, more figuring things out. Also, just a P5 thing, stealth is just a suggestion, the more your seen the more an "alert" bar fills which makes the enemies stronger, but if you kill the person who saw you, the bar goes back down.

The Persona games always sort of have the layout of daily life in the real world and some kind of alternate world. I think its a great balance where if combat gets too repetitive you can go hang out with some of the characters and learn about them which in turn may give you buffs for fighting too. Persona 5 is quite long but I think its worth trying out, there are the difficulty settings which can be changed whenever and at least in my opinion its pretty simple to understand gameplay. The footprints is just an artistic style though.

Is this gonna be a reaction to a Let's Play? Cause that's kinda funny but also I'm interested in what you think. I thought you guys weren't enjoying the first 15 min because they're kinda chaotic and don't provide a lot of context, but that's kind of what I liked from P5's start. How everything was disorienting and confusing, and how things start making sense the longer you play.

This game is really exciting for the first handful of hours, but I found it kinda dragged after that and never hit the same level of excitment again. I gave up on it about 60 hours in. Still worth checking out if you like JRPGs.

I'll join in the chorus of suggesting you should watch Persona 5 Royal content to get the fuller picture; it's effectively an extended cut of the original game, taking everything that was great and adding on a whole bunch of new content that elevates it even higher. Case in point, the Royal version of this sequence has Joker briefly fight alongside Violet, a new Phantom Thief. You might also want to check out the "Morgana's Phantom Thief Crash Course" trailer (kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ZrOnpMt738i1k40.html) , it goes over some of that new content, as well as general story beats and concepts for the game as a whole.

I might be in the minority but I would recommend you start on Persona 3 Reload before you go to Persona 5. Persona 4 is another great game as well you can play if you decide to after finishing 3 and 4.

All the persona games at least the ones i've played are increadibly story heavy and often with heavy themes. They are my absolute favorite game series ever. As for story the fourth game is my absolute favorite followed by five especially the royal version! But i think were most people gives up is on the introduction parts! They are long like really long and i don't think they have gotten the flow down completly there! For me it still works since i know kind of what to expect! And i enjoy every second of it! att least during my first playthrough! The ones after that is where it can get annoying! But i do lve to see peoples reactions to this game and i hope you''ll decide to either play through it yourselfs or what a playthrough!

If you continue watching story content I’d HIGHLY recommend switching to persona 5 royal story. It’s an updated version with more story

This is why people need to be specific. We usually say Persona 5 because we are lazy and don't want to say Persona 5 Royal even though that's what we mean. Whoever submitted this request definitely wanted Royal but ended up getting vanilla because they assumed that they would know what you were talking about even though they are not part of the fandom yet.

So I’m curious. I gonna assume you 2 have heard as how absolutely LOOOOONG this particular game is. I believe the Persona 5 Royal version is over 100 hours. Are you gonna go through via the actual game or just cutscenes? The latter I can see you guys treating it like Genshin with once a week videos. But if it’s the former, are you gonna continuously stream it until it’s done or take a break somewhere in the middle to get to other games on your backlog?

Honestly, yeah. She's not as shoehorned in as other characters when Atlus does a "new girl" edition of their games but she still sticks out a lot.

I'm just going to throw out the dissenting preference for base Persona 5 over Royal; the latter's added stuff is mostly just kinda wedged in superflously and detracts from the story overall.
