Completely agree; the big challenge is preserving what we love about the original while adding a take. This does that perfectly. Gets that haunting melody from the original with the change of tempo and instrumentation. Good on them.

I do an acoustic version of this song as well. It's a testament to Kate's songwriting talent that a song written on a fairlight costing in the six figures translates so we'll to a far more affordable acoustic guitar

@@royfr8136 If you're not actively looking for it, yeah, but it's just ignorant to think there isn't a ton of talent in the music industry. I mean... yes this is a great cover... but it IS a cover. I would say a great musician who can't write good music is the equivalent of a great DH who can't field or run. That's not even to say this group can't write good music, I'm just saying that I'm sick of people barfing out a bunch of nonsense about how there's a lack of talent in XYZ industry. Pro Tip: turn off the radio once in a while, and plop some of your favorite bands into Pandora, and enjoy the experience of being introduced to a bunch of stuff you've never even heard of. Half of my top ten favorite bands were introduced to me this way. You're welcome...

It's curious that the best Kate Bush covers are done by duos, not solo artists, but it also makes sense.

Best Swedish music talent ever is Martin Sandberg also known as Max Martin.

Im a yank and only recently discovered them thanks to youtube. I watch/listen to a lot of music here and the algorithm finally served up one of their videos for me in the last year or so.

The artists that seem to be in the best place to take on these songs are duos, and I don't think that's a coincidence. They don't have to try to be Kate Bush, and it frees them.

This is probably one of the easier KB songs to cover. A lot of her back catalogue is virtually impossible for anyone else to touch and not sound silly.

FFS its a famous song, there have been hundreds of cover versions pre stranger things, it wasnt obscure in the slightest

Something nordique in the soul, we all have.

Singing is a big part of our culture. We sing in kindergarten, learn an instrument, sing in choirs and has a strong industry. Naturally some beautiful talents grow in such an environment. Johanna and Klara's father used to be a punk rocker so I guess they grew up with instruments at home.
