hamham isedd but is more chill I'm guessing the yellow part of the color scheme was supposed to bring symbolism to the pain Enji did to Rei herself (kids too) at the beginning. Because in 1 scene with the 4 triangle pannel of the todoroki siblings it showed all of them where the kids have gotten hurt by Endeavor and those who have yellow apart of them is probably a nod to what Rei said something about their apperence before she spilled hot water on Shoto and/or their stainned relashionship with him due to his parenting. While another quick second was the yellow that tied up Rei and earlier it was on her neck. The boiling pot's steam and her glare had yellow on it to symbolize the pain Enji gave her. Relating to the pain Endeavor gave her, in the 4 pannel after the "You have ruined our lives" the 1st 2 beats shows Shoto and Dabi/Touya because well.. Endeavor gave them pain and ruined their lives in a way ^^;; The part with the "burn" in chours though where all of the todoroki siblings are yellow is possibly relating to the lyrics about them (Rei + their kids) being well.. his children too earlier before Why the artist used black for a background is to maybe show what Endeavor did to them and usually what comes in mind about black is some sad things or even negitivity. ...Red in the “You have married an Icarus He has flown too close to the sun.” Just symbolizes Rei and Enji's relashionship in that puppet form or something as an extra bit on what I think since red is a color assosiated with violence, passion, and anger.... I hope this helped! And I'm sorry if I got any mistakes, feel free to correct me- Goes to everyone else as well.

And the animation that went with it was PERFECT!!! Fuyumi, Natsuo, Dabi/Touya, Shouto + Rei, and finally all the siblings standing in a line with Rei in front of them. I’ve been going back to that part over and over. It’s been haunting me for days but in a good way! It just gives me the chills. I keep on wondering abt Shouto’s reaction to this.

Believe me, growing up without a father is not a big deal, my father was toxic and hurted me, I preferred to stay away from him and now I feel happy and healthy. It's been almost 5 years since the last time I saw him and I regret nothing. Edit: he didn't even do the job of a father, no money for my basic necessities, no protection, damn he didn't even feed me. And I must say that at some point I felt sorry for him, because he looked so unhappy but that wasn't my problem, he wasn't being good for me. And even so compared to endeavor, Enji wins and for a lot, so... Idk but to have my own conclusions

I legit feel like Shoto’s mother and father were in love but grew apart due to endeavor’s ambition...and that in the end endeavor wanted the half ice-fire we all know,protecc, and love. Shoto. I feel bad for them. Edit: Honestly I felt like that was his intentions at first, he wanted her quirk so he did the arrange marriage thing but grew to love her anyway, but when he realized he couldn’t possibly beat Toshinori that’s when it fell apart.

Max My Dog Yes. but the main issue that everyone seems to make her out to be a faultless victim. The abuse wasn't her fault as I previously stated but she DOES hold blame for burning her son. Her vulnerable mental state was sad and we certainly don't have the full picture but, there was an action she took towards todoroki that was of her volition.

Holy crow-- I mean just wow... I honestly didn't think this song could have a better context then then one it was already in... Mrs. Todoroki was married to Enji even though she didn't want to be. But over time she came to love him. Then Shoto was born... Her life became a living hell... He became more abusive then he already was, but this time is was towards her youngest son... She tried to stand in his way, but everything Allmight did just pushed Enji farther into the hell of his own mind! Mrs. Todoroki was verging on total mental collapse when she burned Shoto with a kettle of boiling water... Enji put her in a mental hospital to protect the child that he saw as is best chance to beat Allmight... That's the story as I understand it at least. It may not be completely accurate.

Enji Todoroki is the perfect example of a man blinded by his ideals. He was willing to risk it all, the happiness he could have had in order to stand on the pedestal. He hurts them for a reason, which happens to be his own selfishness. Mrs. Todoroki is a character worth pity, because she had no choice in the matter of coming into his life. Same with the rest of them...

This had to be going through *Endeavor's* mind when he finally reached the goal that made him burn his wife and his children all their lives, especially the last act. He's outwardly un-phased but when the anger dies, thoughts like this must be in his mind because he wouldn't take the first steps to change himself as he has been if they weren't there waiting for a chance to pounce on him. It's Rei who voices the conscience he buried for so long deep inside. Heck, even if Dabi isn't his son, Dabi still does represent the long-awaited consequences of his actions that will darken his legacy beyond his family.

omg i need dabi to be part of this family, imagine if in the newer seasons, younger dabi is shown with baby shoto oml im boutta cry, but then endeavor did sumn to dabi, so he decided to run away, shoto not knowing he had a brother, but shoto’s sister knew dabi was there all along (this is making me sad)

This is is still one of my favorite My Hero Academia animations years later as it was one of the very first animations I saw before I officially started to read the manga and gave it a chance. It's full of emotion and perfectly displays the story of the Todoroki family and how tragic and terrible it is and displays how the members of Todoroki family mourns and deals with grief differently (that's probably just me over analyzing things and self projecting) While I hate Enji as a father and the actions he took I can definitely see that he feels regretful over the things he's done and the fact is family isn't together and is atleast trying to make an effort to be better even though he knows he's not worthy of forgiveness and that his children may never be over what happened to them. The dynamic is very interesting and it really shows in this animation. I hope Rei gets to appear more in the manga I want to eventually see her interact with her children more and perhaps even tackle Enji and her emotions regarding him.

Back then, I tried conveying their story the best way I could; even in the end putting Endeavor showing his regret as he is haunted with what he did to his family. I really liked the line 'he is an icarus that flew to close to the sun' I think that's the line that screamed to me "make a todoroki animatic!!". I never thought the animatic would explode the way it did, I kind of wish I had at least corrected some stuff, but oh well I guess people overlooked my mistakes and I'm glad they still do. So thank you. ;w;; I really hope the manga shows more of them in the future too!

Oh, shit that "they are your legacy" part hit me really hard because that's all Endeavor was trying to do, create strong children to take down All Might because he's already accepted that he can't. And now that he's accomplished (for the most part) what he set out to do, Rei is reminding him that all he's done is hurt the people who are supposed continue what he started.
