You have very clean corn in your gravity wagon. The New Holland combine does a good job.

That's the difference between a combine with a grain pan moving grain back to the cleaning shoe and those stupid auger beds that Deere and CaseIH uses...The grain pan shakes with the cleaning shoe, pre-sorting the heavier grain to the bottom and lighter chaff on top, so as it drops through the rake onto the chaffer MOST of the chaff gets blown out the back right at that point. As the grain spreads out over and falls through the chaffer onto the sieve, the rest of the chaff gets blown out. Stupid auger beds mix everything together into a mix of grain and chaff, and it takes longer to sort out, and so a lot of trash gets though with the grain into the tank. Plus, auger beds deliver material unevenly to the rake and chaffer, as the auger flighting turns and dumps and tosses the material off the end of the auger bed onto the rake and chaffer below. Grain pans deliver the pre-sorted grain and chaff in a smooth, even movement as the pan rocks forward, delivering the grain onto the rake and chaffer in a smooth, flat, even mat of material which rapidly sorts and cleans. The other thing is, seems like most guys just flat outrun the cleaning shoe... they cut the air back too much and open the chaffer and sieve more than they probably should to get the grain through it faster and increase capacity, so they can drive faster and "force feed it" to get done faster. NOT what you want to do to get clean grain. Always start as far open on the chaffer and sieve as possible to maximize capacity, BUT also run the cleaning fan at maximum and dial it back if grain is blowing over... cut the airflow back incrementally until you get acceptable loss out the back... (NOT zero loss... a few broken or immature kernels blowing out the back is normal and acceptable-- it's a fine dividing line). That will give the most capacity with the best cleaning. OL J R :)

That as fast as that spreader turns?? BIL's bin spreader has an electric motor under it slinging it EVERYWHERE in the bin like a rainstorm... does a pretty good job keeping it level IF you place the auger right to account for the "hook" of the corn as it leaves the auger and falls into the spreader... I was gonna say "why not get a bin dryer" would be way cheaper and better in the long run than that batch dryer by the looks of it, but then you'd need stirrators in the bin as well to turn the grain over to really dry wet corn in there properly... SO yeah not having stirrators the batch dryer makes a lot more sense... plus at the slower rate yall harvest, it's better to just dry in batches as it comes out of the field. Later! OL J R :)

What...... No drive over pit, no grain leg, no cross over auger system....... Man If I had a dollar for every load I put in a bin that same way! We did finally dig a small pit and set the trough into it so we wouldn't run into it anymore. I snagged it so bad one day it pulled the auger away from the hole in the top of the bin and corn rained down. Careful on top of that bin. It is a LONG way to the ground and if you are like me you probably don't bounce as good as you once did.

@AJmx2702001 5 жыл бұрын
@@boehmfarm4276 well i was talking about Mayrath In line Not a swing type but i have both so if your looking for a great auger Mayrath is the only one to offer a true Gear Box swing where as the rest use some kind of chain drive on the end for the swing portion... which on the Farmkings the 13 inch we have issues with the end chain sprockets working off due to the weight of auger and corn pushing down on it and not to mention they use a cheap pressed bearing . so if your looking for swings the best Mayrath or Westfield/Wheatheart and actually all 3 are owned by AGI now otherwise straight augers Mayrath inlines are awesome they come with a small hopper attached so you never have to monkey with plastic strap ons or leaking lol and the mayraths by far take the least power we used to run 70 foot long by 10 inch with kubota Sub Compact 18 horse and it would move 3000bu/hr wet corn at full speed lol

Other than the lower boot on the dryer what have you found for issues with the dryer? One of the nice things about that GT dryer is it is so portable. In the 5 years we used ours it was never setup in the same location twice.

The wagon, or the corn it holds? The wagon would bring near a thousand at auction. It now has three new tires, a newer front axle and new rails under the box. Only downside is a bit rust at the door.
