In this video I share my experience of a First Date with Zhasha, a young Filipina who I'd been chatting with on Dating Website - Date In Asia prior to arriving in the Philippines. Why are age-gap relationships between young filipinas and older foreigners so common here? Are Filipinas loyal? Does the older foreigner offer her more than a filipino does? Or a man her own age?
On Date In Asia I met Zhasha. Over the course of 10 days whilst I was in Bangkok we texted regularly. I was 58 at the time. She was 20, had a 6 month old son from a Korean boyfriend. An age gap of 38 years, yet we were still keen to meet each other.
Many foreigners/expats choose the Philippines as the best country to retire in Asia and live in paradise. The Philippines is one of the cheapest countries to live in the world with its low cost of living and all year sunshine. Retiring in the Philippines is affordable on a budget of less than $1000 per month.
Filipinos are welcome and warm people. Filipinos are often regarded as the most friendliest nation in Asia and nicest people in the world. English is widely spoken throughout the country. The Philippines is included in the top ten English speaking countries in the world. The majority of Filipinos are highly proficient in English, so it is very easy to strike up a conversation and make new friends.

This guys is right if you are about 55 years old as long as you keep yourself in shape good health not hard to find a 25 year old girlfriend. I personally say the age limit difference should not be more than 30 years. Look at leonardo DiCaprio. He does it all the time. If you make at least 2000 USD a month in phillipines your basically a rich man and in high demand. Just don't go after the super young girls who are 18-22 they are really stupid. Find girls in mid 20s they are wiser and more mature. Most filipinos are damn broke and many are womanizers drunkards. Dude- I hate to say it, but you can't expect a hot girl in her 20s to chase a guy in his 60s. If you were open to dating women in their late 30s or 40s you would experience what younger guys experience with the girls you want.

OMG, Who the hell were you talking to on the asian dating sites? Sure people like you describe are there. But I had the opposite experience, Then again I ignored all the girls in their 20's. Since Im 47 I only took women in their 30's and 40's serious. Eveyone in their 20's contacting me I just said "you are too young for me". I waited until I found someone I really clicked with and we make each other smile and laugh every day. She is educated, she get even my deep jokes, speak fluent english. When I visited her she was so loving and caring. She never ask me for money (we have been together for 8 months), but she has a good job as supervisor for a power company. There are really good women out there, even on dating sites. Just not western women. They are the worst.

I’ve been there about 20 times for work and I’ve yet to crack the code! 1 out of 4 trips result in a temporary win… I don’t envy you for hitting it up chasing the dragon. It’s a rough go mate. I had the same experience. Never once did my date arrive early or on time. Didn’t matter how late I showed up I ended up waiting. But the sight of them coming to you erased the annoyance. The next high faded with the painful conversation void. Rinse and repeat. 🤣🤣 Your daily diary enters are priceless. Great detail ! I was there 😅

Hm, hey there Big World..., uhm, have you ever thought about what life is for the person you date? If you were in her clothes/situation, how would u see life? What would you think about the 58 y o dude coming to date her? Have you ever looked at yourself beside her in the mirror? U get what u pay for, or u get as much out of life as u put in..., if u want perfect model looks u'll have to provide a lifestyle where she will be able to maintain her looks. If u expect her to work hard, take care of you and her baby etc, she won't look like 20 for very long. Hm, if u squeam about 30 php here and there at 58 y o dating a knockout 20 y o..., I seriously dunno what you expect to find in life? And about Filipinas not being imaginative and interested to text...., well i you look like u and are your age and she looks like her being 20 y o, as a young beautiful woman having her inbox flooded with messages from men from all over the world..., what do you expect them to do other than briefly glance over your (self)-'important' message? I'm not knocking you..., I just want u to see the world from their side as well. If u provide nothing but you, u'll ofc get someone on the same level of interest AS YOU, perhaps decent looking 40 y o, 35 at best. Plan to avoid using debit and credit cards. Seems it’s too easy for them to be compromised. Having worked and traveled, Always carry a lot of cash. I make it a point to never get down to the last peso.

I don't think Philippines in general is a country where ladies in majority are very outspoken. As a European I understand that we often have this tendency to think that an assessment for the right candidate should be characterised by lengthy interviews, but in the Philippines this isn't always the case, and I don't necessarily think this is the only way things should be. I have this observation and correct me if I am wrong that perhaps you take yourself a bit too seriously rather than just relax let things happen, put expectations aside and give Filipinos more understanding after all you decided to live in a country which is culturally much different than yours. Personally, if the girl asked me for 150 pesos id just gave her because many of those people really need it. It is fine for you to look for a Filipina who will meet your expectations and I am sure there most likely is one, but i don't think it's ok to expect people to align with what you'd like them to be , or to somehow your lense is the good and correct one and others not.

Your point is valid but there are guys that are just too thoughtful for that. I am one of them. I was married to a Filipina. She was educated, a nurse and very kind. I would have stayed with her for life but it did get unbearable at times. She just didn't have much to say to me and said she felt intimidated. I think Filipinas are more into talking with their girlfriends. She was into me because she loved physical intimacy and just being around me. It just ate at me though. So long story short, some men are more into verbal communication and emotional connection ironically. Not many of us but some🤣🤣

Sounds like you're a nice guy but not great at dating or communicating with women. It's much better to meet women offline, and talk them in a relaxed but confident way to get a bit impression of their interest level. Also I think it's a mistake to let tradional women make all the choices about where to go and what to do, they're expectiing you to be a leader even if you're in a new city you can be like nah I don't like sea food or nah i'm not hungry now.

It's entirely understandable that she want to care for her family. The catch is that if she only cares about your money, then you know emotionally, instinctively, that when you need to rely on her (even a little bit), she'll be gone. The rub is that there is no negotiating this. All the signs are that she was entering into this arrangement with all the enthusiasm of someone sifting through dig crap for coins (and having to act like they enjoy the process).

😂 Comical.. The problem a guy WILL HAVE if he is older and she is young (VERY), she will not have any experiences of her own to offer during your conversations (uh, interview). One of the things I try very hard to do (after being married to a Filipina for 9 yrs - now divorced 10 years ago) is to ask/make sure she (ANY WOMAN) has “something to bring to the table” other than LOOKS and/or youthfulness. I was young myself back then so I mistakenly assumed we would figure things out “together” - WRONG!! Today, I would focus on an older woman, within 5-10 yrs to my age, not in her 20s unless you feel you want to constantly be in that “teaching” mode and have nothing in common except YOUR money.

the gentleman is now about 60 61 i think as he said he was 58 when he met this girl in 2020 .. personally i have 0 interest in dating a 20 year old AND 0 interest in dating a woman 5-10 years younger at my age which is 58 currently .. my filipina is a 37year old elementary school teacher .. beautiful .. mature .. and with life experience at her age but still younger enough that i can find her physically attractive .. i do agree with your sentiment tho .. the point here imo is there has to be an equal level enough of maturity between both partners in the relationship .. if so, then that's a good starting foundation

I had the opposite experience. I met a fantastic woman on asian dating. And when we vcalled she didn't look like her pictures from asian dating, she looked 100x better than her pictures on AD. Just came home from manila a few days ago and I had the time of my life and she was even more beautiful in real life than on video call.

Somewhat intriguing but also predictable cuz I've been there and done it. My advice is guys if you're not fresh out of the shower if your hair is not cleanly cut or if you have a scraggly beard get yourself in shape because Filipinos don't admire unkept hair or a sweaty body.

I think when you chat with a girl online it's about chemistry and communication most girls In the Philippines age difference is not a issue living in the Philippines over the last 10 years off and on and a few relationships in the Philippines I can judge if the girl is genuinely interested in me and not a Gold Digger digger I'm very wise to all the tricks and no many ex pats that was taken for prize fools- when the m in the Philippines I live moderately but comfortable and don't go trying to impress with money girls with children are always looking for some financial support and a better life style but don't get fooled in to supporting all the family I am generous to a point but not a fool - All this online I love you ? I took me 2 months to understand the online dating dynamics in Philippines. Many ladyboys not saying they are ladyboys, a few scammers here and there, and girls looking better on pictures than in real life. So yeah it works well when you understand it but be selective and ask any question when you are in doubt to avoid costly mistakes. And yeah you can't avoid the fact that younger ladies are massively overusing social medias those days which gives them some social awarkness sometimes.

Great honest story telling, really interesting and insightful to the whole experience. I think there was a bit of cultural mis understanding on your part. She came to meet you and stayed with you for the whole day, she didn't have money and you did so it's fine to be paying if you're interested. The sad thing is the next day she may well have needed phone credit so she could continue texting and talking to you and you just went silent. I totally get the apprehension on your part, but I don't think she was trying to fleece you at all. She probably had no money to buy credit and felt you didn't like her because you had gone silent. At the of the date maybe she felt it was not quite a match but she still got in touch the next day. And testament to that is that years later you both met again. I don't think she had any bad intent. And fair enough to get a tattoo if she didn't like a mole. Sorry it didn't work out. You guys looked great together.

After my experience of visiting the Philippines many times if you visit cities like Cebu many expats drink in bars and are friendly with other expats also many have a wife or girlfriend and they have siblings or cousins wanting to date a foreign man . I have dated nice family orientated girls that work in malls or have full time work but many work 6 days a week -there are scammers and gold diggers so just be a bit careful - Gd luck - Gd luck if you are going going to the Philippines Philippines .

there is pretty good value in 1st impressions (sadly). you had the basic sense of all that would unfold within the 1st 1+ hour or so ha... and the 2nd meeting confirmed it. If you had done "more" it would have been a money thing afterwords. But the good news... so many wonderful fish in the sea.

I find it interesting you described her eyes as "slanted" even though for an Asian her epicanthal fold is ever so slight, minimal at best with a pretty equivalent eye size to yours. I always felt non-Asians have this hypersensitive awareness of Asian eye shape as a mixed Asian guy. That's all. Interesting storytelling.

It funny that you don’t pay extra 1000 pesos for extended on visa but happy to use credit card to pay for coffee . I’m used to use credit when I’m first come to Philippines but not any more bank fee are so expensive . Plus each time you use credit the A TM you are using will change you a fee as well .

I had no choice to pay with c/c as I had no cash left. This was 3 years ago when I'd just arrived in the Phils. Just use cash now. There's no ATM fees with Starling Bank a/c withdrawing from HSBC. Where are you based?

Time will tell in any relationship. Here in the States, 6 months is a reasonable waiting period for true colors to shine through. In the PI it seems women reveal their ulterior intentions faster.
