FIRST DATE WITH MY FILIPPINE GIRL IN ARMENIA / MEETING MY FILIPINA GIRLFRIEND FOR THE FIRST TIME IN ARMENIA.
A Story About Love and A Long Distance Relationship
A few years ago, I learned about the tropical country of the Philippines, its natural beauty with many beautiful beaches, its culture and, most importantly, the hospitality and friendliness of the locals. Since then, I dreamed of someday moving there from the Krasnodar Territory, where I was born and raised.
One day I met a Filipino girl on the Internet, we became friends and became a couple. We wanted to meet in real life and waited for almost 2 years, but the borders of the Philippines were still closed to tourists, and Filipinos could not get a visa to Russia.
Recently I met a man who told us about Armenia. He met his Filipino fiancee there and got married.
My Filipina and I also decided to go to Armenia to get to know each other better and get married.
My girlfriend's name is Darlene. She was born and raised on the island of Luzon in Pangasinan province in a simple large family and spent her childhood on a farm planting rice and picking mangoes.
In order for the Filipina to be able to obtain an electronic Armenian visa, we paid for plane tickets for entering and leaving the country, renting an apartment, and insurance. And the next day after sending the documents via the Internet, she received a visa.
It took her 21 hours to get to Armenia. There was a transfer to another plane in Kuala Lumpur, and then in the United Arab Emirates.
The journey was exhausting and frightening for her, but she decided to overcome her fear for the sake of love.
I also arrived at the airport and am waiting to board the plane.
I took a quadcopter with me to make the video about Amenia more picturesque, and a small backpack with things. All this goes like hand luggage and will fly with me in the cabin.
I will fly from Krasnodar to Yerevan for about an hour and a half. I have never been to Armenia and I do not know what difficulties we will have to face there. But now I'm not thinking about that. With every minute, the huge distance between me and Darlene is shrinking and soon we will be together. How will our meeting go? Will she like me in real life or not? What will our communication be like? For a long time we corresponded and I used Google translator. And my English is still very weak. I hope we can somehow understand each other. And now the plane has already landed at the international airport Zvartnots.
Morning has come and I can admire the view from our Windows. Yerevan is a fairly hilly city. Altitude differences can reach 400 m. It is surrounded by the Caucasus Mountains and is located in the northeast of the Ararat Valley.
Yerevan is sometimes called the "Pink City" due to the fact that most of the houses and architectural sights are built of pink and beige volcanic tufa.Yerevan is considered one of the oldest cities in the world. The first settlement of Erebuni was founded 2804 years ago.
Thus, Yerevan is 29 years older than Rome. Later we will walk around the city and discover beautiful places of interest.
Yesterday at the airport I exchanged Russian rubles for the national currency of Armenia - Armenian drams. The word "dram" comes from the Greek "drachma" and is translated as "money".
And finally, the plane from Dubai landed. I was excited and happy at the same time. Then Darlene came out the arrivals door. She's real, she's in front of me. I hugged her and she hugged me back. We got into a taxi. On the way we held hands, and I still could not believe that she was next to me.We were hungry and I bought ready-made food in the store. sprats, cheese sausage pies, olives, Armenian wine.
The food for Darlene was a little strange, she had never eaten it before. In the Philippines and many Asian countries, rice is the staple food.
The next day we went to look for a store where we can buy warm clothes for Darlene. She is not used to cold weather, as she has lived all her life on tropical islands. The lowest temperature she had ever felt in the Philippines was plus 20 degrees. Her hands are often very cold here, even if she is in the house.
We found a small underground market and ended up buying only a pair of gloves. Funny, she has very small hands and only fits in child-sized gloves.
We didn't find a jacket here and people advised us to take the subway and go to the mall. It will be an interesting experience, especially for Darlene. She has never taken the subway. There is no metro in the Philippines and Malaysia, probably because earthquakes happen there quite often.
We bought some warm clothes for Darlene and walked around a bit before heading home. On the way we looked at the works of Armenian stone masters.
In the next series, we will walk around the Armenian market in search of something tasty, look at the reaction of Filipina girl to unfamiliar foods and cook something in the kitchen with our own hands.
