Hello, As a Thai person, I recommend that you try using public transportation services such as the skytrain, the subway, or passenger boats. I do not recommend taking taxis or tuk-tuks because of the risk of being scammed.

Been working and living in Bangkok +15 years, so fun to see "my city" from new eyes from a first-timer. Best way to get around as a tourist (and local) is by the skytrain and subway btw..have a great time now and enjoy Thailand =)

Mr Dudgie, back on the 2nd June 1999 I married my Thai wife, and as a special treat I booked us a room at the Hotel in Baiyoke Tower 2, then the tallest building in Bangkok. I took her to the observation deck on the top, you went up in an internal lift, but when you came down it was in a glass lift on the outside. When we started moving my wife was so terrified she started screaming and when we made it to the bottom, she went mad accusing me of wanting to kill her. She soon calmed down when she saw our beautiful room, but for a while after getting out of the lift, I thought it was going to be the shortest marriage in history. 🤣

Haha I'm glad she forgave you in the end, it's a breath taking experience. Thankfully I didn't experience the glass lift, it would have probably finished me off 😂👌🇹🇭

Wait until you go to Shibuya Sky in Tokyo, which is the largest city on earth. It's even WAYYY more dense and built up with skyscrapers in every direction as far as the eye can see. Asia has the craziest cities on earth. Bangkok is very addictive, once you leave, you'll miss all of the action and feast for the senses a lot. That's why it's the most visited city on earth.

Recently I had reason to purchase a box set of Victoria Secret Perfume in a similar high(er) end store in Pattaya (an official shop).....in the UK the set was £245 but in Pattaya it was £178 taking into account exchange rates that day in February this year.....sometimes though it does go the other way. Obviously we are talking original stuff not the counterfeit variety

@@TheDudgies cost of staff Wages are a fraction of the UK in fact daily minimum wage in Thailand is less than just 1 hour of UKs minimum hourly rate

Fantastic, it's great to watch it all unfold for you and that jetlag 😂. If you are heading to Pattaya...keep the necklace in the safe. If you happen to go for a massage. The smartly dress girls you see outside the shop fanning their face down with the price list or throwing the left overs from the fish soup on the road...well they are the ones to avoid if you want a proper none happy ending massage.
