My first day in Colombo, Sri Lanka, was such a pleasant surprise. I didn't really know what to expect because I hadn't researched much about the country beforehand, and I had heard mixed reviews from people saying it might not be a great place to visit. But wow, was I amazed by how beautiful Colombo turned out to be! It was so stunning that I ended up extending my stay for a whole week.
The streets were unexpectedly clean and well-kept, which immediately made a positive impression on me. And the people-oh, they were incredibly friendly and welcoming. I didn't face any issues during my time there, and everyone I met was so eager to share their culture and engage in conversation.
What struck me the most was how safe and accommodating the city felt. I was able to explore freely without any worries, and that really added to my overall enjoyment of the experience.
Looking back, I'm so glad I didn't let the negative opinions deter me from visiting Colombo. It turned out to be a fantastic journey filled with wonderful memories and genuine interactions that I'll always cherish.
