aTrippyFarmer and the crew are back to bring you more farming adventures! In this episode, Andy and his family are finalizing the John Deere Equipment lineup in order to harvest their first field of soybeans in Central Illinois. After a week of anxiously waiting, the team has finally decided to move into the crop and begin harvesting the soybeans. Andy, Marty, Chris, Jeff, and Katie are all there to fire up the machines on the first day, and everything continuously goes smoothly. Andy gets his first chance to operate the New John Deere 8R370 and JM1222 Grain Cart, and Marty sends the first crops through the brand new John Deere S780. The crew dives into the harvest season with the hopes of conquering the Central Illinois Soybean crop. Thanks for watching!

Andy "aTrippyFarmer" Dole is a 6th generation farmer from Central Illinois. On this farm, Andy works alongside his father, Marty, his uncles, Chris and Jeff, and his sister, Katie, to grow corn and soybeans on some of the finest dirt in the world. Andy and his family are deeply rooted in the area, operating a large farm that traces it origins back into the 1800s. Although some tracts did not stand the test of time, Andy and his family still grow corn and soybeans on fields that have been in the family for longer than even the oldest members of the farm have been alive. We do, we have, and we always will take tremendous pride in calling this piece of paradise our home. Andy was a Bronze Tablet graduate of the University of Illinois in the field of Crop Sciences, following the same path as his father and late grandfather.
It would be misleading for Andy to claim that this life is one that came by chance; rather, as a member of two multi-generational farm families, it was simply in his blood. His passion for agriculture traces back to his early youth--some of his fondest, earliest memories being of days spent riding in the combine with his father and grandfather. Although his understanding of the lifestyle was much less complex in the beginning, the love he has for farming, and its industry has only appreciated through time. As this dream blossomed into adulthood, Andy now works relentlessly, and tirelessly, to chase his own dreams and to build a farming operation of his own alongside his family.
We, as a whole operation, are handymen, electricians, mechanics, landscapers, accountants, economists, caretakers, stewards, and, most importantly, farmers, and we take an incredible amount of pride in our work. There is no challenge too overwhelming, no situation too stressful, and no problem too difficult for us to take on, and we want to take you along with us. Welcome to our farm and welcome to our lives. You have the best seat in the house to watch the everyday chaos of farming unfold--we usually only get concerned when things aren't going wrong!

It's funny because when I read the title of your channel, it was off-putting and I thought this guy is not serious about farming. However, it is the complete opposite. You have, in my opinion, the best farming channel on YT in terms of explaining the rationale behind farming decisions. I appreciate your patient and coherent style as you go into detail with information covering a broad scope of topics. Farming is a complex business. Keep going, your channel with grow as viewers discover you.

I’m a spring / summer guy. Living roots in the ground, the way it is supposed to be. What does brown dirt look like to me? Slavery, suffering, degradation, destruction. But a living plant is life. Yearning little solar panels, natures own fusion, creating more than it takes. I’ll never be whole physically from 23 years of farming, I suffered, sweat, got by by the skin of my teeth, made other people MILLIONS for a chance to do my thing. I’ve been in the death business as a young Marine in the Gulf War, and as an officer / aviator in the Marine Corps who did his part in the War On Terror.” The life business is better, and doing it on my terms is icing on the cake.

An easier way to attach the header is to hold the LB button and press the X button at the same time. Learned that on Farm Simulator LOL But seriously you guys have some beautiful farms. Here in my area of Virginia you guys wouldn’t have room to park your equipment on a farm around here. I’m in the mountainous area and if you have flat land you’re in heaven! Some of my friends left this area and went to California, where as I hear they have the largest family owned farms in the USA. No matter the size of the farm, farming is expensive and very labor intensive. If it isn’t the weather then it’s the pests or diseases. And if it isn’t that then you’re fighting equipment breaking down. Sometimes you wonder why you even got out of bed. My hat is off to ANY and ALL farmers! I know it isn’t easy! God bless you guys and gals!

It was a sad day, when I called the family I worked for that I wasn't going as I finished my college with my engineering degree - which they help make that possible. Great show lots of great info. The machine have changed so much from when I would help my grandfather with his harvest back in the early 60s. We battled with the equipment he had most of it from the early 50s to the late 50s the newest thing he had was his big JD tractor. Everything worked as it should but it was still a very hard day of work.

I always liked Fall, ready for another year of deer hunting. Watching a lot of farm equipment working on so many farms. Each farmer is unique, as to liking and buying a certain brand of equipment. Springtime is my favorite time of year for one most of the time everybody is completely tired of winter and finally are glad to hear the birds singing and the sun actually having some warmth on you and then of course it's the beginning of Life I mean you start to see the grass turn back green and you start seeing the leaves back on the trees you know where all you looked at is dead trees all year I hate winter time because not only is the days shorter so it's almost like you get up in the dark and you go back home into bed in the dark because you only got so many hours in a day but everything's so dead and dreary so spring time to me is just like being born again you know every year you start to see Life come out flowers the bees you know just life itself starts to live again and if you like me you have a little bit of depression that hangs over you through those months trying to get through it and that depression kind of leaves and the days start getting longer so that means what you either going to work long days which most of the time we end up doing but if we do get those days where we got some time to get off we still got some day like to actually do something other than work we're in the winter time you pretty much just have work cuz it's dark and what the heck you going to do in the dark just go inside you know what I'm saying just you just sitting there watching TV and sleep is off is weird because where you usually don't get dark till 8:00 and 9:00 so then you only have a couple hours we can go to bed now you're sitting there for 4 hours really with nothing to do cuz it's dark and your inside where you usually aren't inside you know you stay outside till dark cuz it's always something to do if it ain't nothing but just enjoying the night evening or the evening evening

Andy,,,, we love our 410 tractors. They are beasts. They will pull an 8 bottom 18 inch switch plow with a sterling goose neck packer 12-14 inches deep and act like it’s not even there. They also handle our 16 row stack fold 3 point planters like champs. Expensive yes. But worth every penny. I used to be the balancer between grouchy Dad and everyone else. Now it’s my turn to be grouchy harvest boss. There is a correlation between grouchy-ness and decision maker.
@aTrippyFarmer
@aTrippyFarmer Жыл бұрын
Your point about the decision maker and grumpiness is spot on. There is a lot to keep straight when you are the boss. These 8R tractors are incredible. I wouldn't be surprised to see another one here by next spring for the other planter.
