So glad Lex had a great first day! Hope it stays positive! My youngest was 6 weeks premature so he was a bit behind so he had 2 years of head start! He had speech till 4 th grade. He had a bit of a problem saying certain words. He is great now that he is 17 and a junior in high school. He is an honor student. Good luck with school Lex! You can do this snd make some friends buddy!

I’m so proud of Noah! He did rounding numbers so well, and I like the way you pace him with schoolwork, only chunks at a time of what he can tolerate, so he won’t be too overwhelmed. I think this is excellent for kids on the spectrum. You are great at that! Learning at a Home environment is so good for Noah right now, it’s good you decided to keep him homeschooled. Glad Lex had a great first day! It will probably take him a few weeks to adjust to school, especially since it’s all day. New environments, new people, and new structure. Also, more working so it can be hard on children mentally and physically until they adjust to a new routine. My daughter came home cranky after school a lot in pre-k but she eventually adjusted 😉 maybe this will help with his sleeping as well.

You may have already tried this, but I just wanted to mention that using a number line might help with teaching Noah to round because it would help give a visual for which ten the number is closer to. Just thought I would mention in case you hadn’t tried that strategy.

Not sure how it works in Florida (I'm from the cold Northeast), but CostCo has very warm winter jackets (if you have a membership). Sam's Club also probably does (but I'm not a member there).

I find it crazy how extreme the temperature difference around the world is. I live in Nova Scotia Canada we use C° here but for us your 40 is mild weather expecially in the winter. I'm a teacher during winter if we get a day that warm we'll be out as long as we can be to let the kids burn off energy.

The behavior problems at home after school are probably a reaction to a combination of: being tired after a day that requires more focus than he is used to and the behavior being in its honeymoon phase at school leading to him reacting wild and frustrated at home. Noah: I’ve finally grown up Into a man. Oh my god. So cute. Your kids just make me want to break out into grandma cheek pinches and kisses. So glad that Lex likes school and wants to go back.

im a preschool teacher, and yes you're right-packing more food than necessary is way better than packing not much (can always be sent home) Lex probably didnt eat much, as he was likely so excited/overwhelmed with the new environment! I wouldnt worry about that! :) He's growing up so fast!

It's hilarious that they didn't go outside because of the cold. It was 18 degrees a few days ago in Michigan, and we played outside 😆

Hi, I've just stumbled across your channel, never seen you before. Just to say I think you're doing so well with your children. Lex did brilliantly on his first day- I have had some crying sessions in the first week. Your lunch bag with the built in ice blocks looks good- I would usually put a small block in the bag. In the UK we also have the juice police in schools, fruity water is ok. But they don't seem to have caught up with Cornwall where I now live. Healthy snacks for Lex, but I go a bit wibbly when I see grapes. Here, in preschool, you would have to cut them all up for fear of choking. Long ways as well, I once cut them across and got pulled up on it. Lex seemed to manage them fine though, he was immediately chewing which is the key. I suppose it's more 2 and 3 year olds they're hyper about, but I always tell my 6 year old to bite and chew them. Just in case. Never knew about rounding up myself! Doesn't make a whole lot of sense in the real world, because if you've got £55 it's never gonna be £60... but you could buy something for £50 and have change 😆 Anyways nice to have come across you. Love your honesty, which I relate to. xx

I'm the very first comment :) the last time I'm commented this it got ignored. We just found out yesterday that my two and half year old son is autistic. She said that he hit all the criteria and quite severe and regularly. All of this is so confusing and sad for us right now. His dad is especially upset, because he doesn't want him to struggle or have to challenges. He wants him to be happy and healthy. We were recommended ABA I think it is and all of this just so confusing. We wont have the official diagnosis until my 3 and half year old daughters appointment next week. It is really cool that you are able to get your child in a special needs preschool I bet he will love it and grow a lot.
