For 2 1/2 years we have struggled with our 64 Ford Galaxie Country Sedan station wagon to try to get it to the road worthy stage. Literally everything was stuck on this car from the locked up engine, to the transmission being stuck in 2nd gear to the doors not opening. In this video we finish up the T5 swap by installing the driveshaft sourced from a Chevy, and install our new interior including bucket seats, insulation, carpet, and we finally get the doors to open and shut before taking out for its first test drive with the new floors and transmission.

Mr. Sleeperdude! A word of caution. Just in the intro here. I see you are using heat to remove the worms from your driveshaft. Please use caution. Sometimes it will get hot enough to ignite the grease in the u joint. Those caps will fly out like a bullet. Could easily cause severe damage to your shop or worse, a person. I had it happen to me twice. One exited the shop roof where I worked. The other ricochet shot took out a window and interior damage in a shop truck. Please use caution. I started using V blocks on the floor, and heating both sides of the bottom cap. If it blows out, it will hit the floor first, have less energy if it flies. Thank you for another great video. Thank you for sharing your life with us.

I know I already commented on this episode but I just wanted to say that this episode is in my top ten favorites. The joy y’all get out of a really good result from lots of hard work (much of which we don’t even see or the episode would be hours long)is so contagious. Watching y’all drive the Galaxie the first time just warmed my heart. The way y’all come across makes me feel part of it and I thank you for sharing your lives with us. I’m disabled now and 53 years old so my life isn’t quite as exciting as it once was so y’all add a lot of “color” to a sometime mundane existence. Thank you. From the bottom of my heart.

I said yes and they had to ship it at the price that was listed two years ago with free shipping because that was the conditions under which I ordered it. I don’t think they were happy but two years and three weeks after I ordered it, I finally got the dash for my car.

That outfit and hat Ralphie is wearing, then SleeperDude is twinning with him had me grinning. Raphie he is such a cute kid! Especially when he did the Skeet Skeet promo for Sweet Patina. I will have to buy some. Don't know why I need it, just that Ralphie told me to buy it. You all should get the same coveralls and wear the same shirt when you go to a Car Show, it would be so cool to see! The family vibes you all put out are strong, makes me miss raising my 2 Boyz so much. This car is close to one we had when I was a kid. We had a Vista Cruiser as well. I remember riding in the 'back back' as we called it, in the backward facing seat. Cars back then were made to last. Keep em all, they ain't making no more!

Nice ! About the trans noises : The T5 World Class uses ATF (looks like that's what you put in there) but the T5 Non-World Class uses 50W gear oil The noise you hear sounds like straight-cut gears, so either you have : - Straight cut gears in the axle - Straight cut gears kit in the T5 - The wrong oil in your transmission

Bruh, I dig that car so much but can't stand the front and rear wheels not matching. I love that fact that you all are doing the build on this from floor pans to carpets, Not many videos out there showing all that work, I really appreciate that! Great work!

Great video! One thing about those old Fords is so much of the hardware is the same for all the models. Some of the Falcons you have will have many of the odd clips and window hardware you need. ;)

You should get your artist a big flat panel van and paint it with chalkboard paint... (yes they make chalkboard paint you can draw on. Then it rains and a fresh canvas😊)

The FORD Country Squire Wagons really were the Conestoga Wagons of the 1960's and 1970's. They took families across town and across the country. Thanks so much for rescuing this one! You all did a excellent job installing the new floor pan and fixing the door latches as well as the 5 speed tremec/hyd. clutch install and fabrication. WaWa and Ralphie did a great job on sanding down the welds--Squeezie art work is really good, the wife's camera work is very good also.

On your ultrasonic cleaner take an old sheet pan/cookie sheet to use as a lid. You can cut holes where you need to let parts stick through that don’t fit. This way you lose less heat and fluid to evaporation. I buy up sheet pans and pie pans at garage sales for like fiddy cents (or less)whenever I see them they make great parts trays also. Looking forward to seeing more on this wagon; my dad was a Ford guy so when the family got big enough to make muscle cars impractical he bought one of these new in ‘64, ours was black.
