HI Jake. Got a question. How do shiny new tyres compare to tyres that may have done 10-15 laps but have been washed?? Loving the videos and hope that you go well this season.
@jakehillracing3 ай бұрын
Very good question. A new shiny tyre once warm up laps are completed will give you ultimate grip and confidence, it’s like having another 10/15% more grip but this only lasts about 2 laps I would say. Then the tyre stabilises for the next 5/10 laps ( track dependant ) then it starts to fall away lap by lap

For bricklaying we use string lines! ha! Never thought you would use them in Touring cars! especially with the lazer tool sponsorship I thought you would have lazers all over the place to get tracking done! great vid! Looking forward to the new season as I bet you are! Good Luck fella!

Unfortunately unless you are spending thousands and thousands on lasers strings just never lie! And are faster and easier to set up.

Grumps 😂 funny as . Lifting eyes on the cage ( covered here in green tape ) should be an option at all race meetings. Saves lots of damage to bodywork when recovering a vehicle and the ridiculous lengths I’m having to go to extending my chassis rails and towing eye mounts to comply to latest MSA regs . 🙄 Pity Cadwell wasn’t a bit more of a suitable circuit as I would love to see BTCC there. Just imagine the thought of the mountain , scary Mary 😳😃

@jakehillracing3 ай бұрын
Good question, the reason being is now we have the hybrid system we aren’t allowed to heel and toe and it spins the hybrid motor up incorrectly and can damage it as we have seen in the past so now they have installed an auto blip. It’s annoying but it’s what we have to do

Why does that button pad flash constantly like that? I have noticed it before on the touring cars it looks distracting.
@graemeclark3 ай бұрын
Won't look like that to your eyes, just a thing that happens with filming - it's just that the frequency of the LEDs on the button pad will be a different frequency to the frames recorded by the camera so you'll get that strobing effect. Lots of electronic stuff does that when you film it, like some room lighting and old tube televisions / monitors for instance.
