The exact same thing happened with my son when he was 8 and was Michael Meyers for Halloween. We came upon an adult in the exact same costume. But they didn't hug, they just stood facing one another, staring deeply at each other as a crowd gathered and it must've give for at least 5 minutes. It was fantastic. They "clinked" knives then kept it moving.

Same thing happened to me when I played Pennywise at a haunted walkthrough. Kid was dressed up as Pennywise and got really excited when he saw me, so I bent down and gave him a high five… then I scared his mom LOL. One of my favorite memories.
