Holy crap! My parents bought an ‘84 Subaru gl years ago, and I eventually inherited it. I got really good at shifting the manual transmission by just glancing at the Tachometer. Drove it until shit started falling apart. The doo4 win cranks fell off. The front passenger outer door latch quit working. Eventually I drove the car over to Barger-Mattson Auto Salvage here in Twin Falls, Idaho (my dad was in another car following) and my dad got a few hundred bucks for the scrap value.

Back in 1995/96 I owned two Subaru GLs (both 2 dr hatchbacks). The first one was my first car. I believe it was an 80 or an 81. I got rear-ended by some kid in a VW Rabbit with bad calipers when leaving school. The second I think might have been an 83. I can't remember. All I know is that a large subwoofer box with 2 12" subs turned many heads and got a lot of attention in that car. It was a real piece of sh*t though. I don't know what I would do if I saw one driving down the road. Probably would have to follow it. lol

Yeah I’m pretty sure it is. It’s on the same circuit as the coolant temp sender for the gauge cluster. This cars wiring is odd.
