First Gen Pontiac Firebird Fixed, Tremec 5 Speed going back in!

Time to button up this big bad stick shift first gen Firebird and get it back on the road for our customer! When it came to us this car would not start, and wouldn't start for a reason because both the flywheel and starter were damaged badly! A new starter from our friends at Jegs, a new flywheel, and a little creative problem fixing, and we're ready to put this Tremec 5 speed back in place!
Of all the classic american muscle cars out there, without a doubt one of our personal favorites are these Pontiac Firebirds. The styling is just fantastic, the ride is wonderful, and with a Pontiac 428 under the hood and 5 speed manual transmission this is one awesome drivable machine! Another one done, back on the road, and ready to make thousands of miles more smiles!

Hi Rich, nice street machine. Color right, wheels, tires right, engine right, transmission right, a great example of a street fighter. If it has chrome side pipes(which it definitely doesn't need) it would meet the definition of a "HOTWHEELS" ride.

You were correct. The 67 Firebird did not have side markers, 68 was the first year. 67 was the last year for the vent windows. I had a 68 with a 400, 2bbl carb, and two speed transmission. It was fun to drive but no amenities. I bought a 67 Firebird that was loaded to the gills with amenities. It had factory disc brakes, 4 spd Muncie, posi, factory traction bars, AC, PS, PB... it was an amazing car for being 20+ years old when I bought it. I miss both of them more often than I care to admit.

Still one of my favorite cars 1st Street race I was ever in was in a 68 firebird identical to this car only with the four-speed I was 10 years old remember like it was yesterday😊

That's a bad ass 68 Rich , just needs a set of long tube headers! Those older big block Pontiacs sound killer with them! PEACE ✌️

Beautiful car! Always loved the body style and I wish they made the 428 for a lot more than just a few years. Would've liked to have seen the 428 in a high performance application from Pontiac besides it mainly being in the land yachts. I have some high school buddies that ran the 428 in their drag trans am through the 80's into the early 2000's and they swore by it! They might even still have it in the car to this very day. Thanks for the video of a really nice ride.

Gorgeous car... Rich do you have any idea the color of this 68 bird... My first car was a 57 Chevy and i wanted to paint it this color.. a friend told me that it was British Racing green, so that's what I told the paint shop... Well what i ended up with was Telephone Co. green..Yep same color as the telephone company trucks...Well i was pretty upset to say the least.. Needless to say, that guy is no longer a friend...
