First mod to the GQ is to remove the old electric trailer brake controller and install a better Tekonsha P3 that I’ve had sitting around for quite a while

Sweet as man! You'll be towing that 30 foot family caravan in no time 👌👍😀

I hope I don’t have to tow a caravan, I much prefer my little camper trailer😂

I've never seen those piggyback fuse power thingy before, that's pretty good way of connecting new gadgets. Of, course being mindfull of total power drawn from it.. Never seen a electronic brake controller either, not sure the trailers in europe have electronic brake (or maybe the more professional trailers have them), only seen the old school mechanical trailer brakes here.

Yeah I'm only using this one to trigger the relay, main power is straight from the battery. I didn't do a real good job of explaining it in the video. Trailer brakes here are generally either override (either mechanical or hydraulic) electric ( electric drums are common, or for the heavier stuff an electric over hydraulic is favoured). But for either of the electric options you need a brake controller. This style im using has kinda been replaced by units that are more discreet - they just need a control know mounted on the dash and the rest of the unit can be hidden.

I need electric brake for my car trailer

I would like to rip out the hydraulic over rides on my car trailer. Because I don’t use it all that often the master cylinders seize up for me

It’s around here somewhere, but to be honest I’m trying not to think about it😂

Going to be lucky if it escapes being stripped for parts to be honest (Its probably worth more like than then trying to sell it complete)

@@Shanes_Shed its a shame as they are stil loa good vehicle, they don't rust, chasis a bit is all. I'm keeping mine for the foreseeable. Will get the trans rebuilt and new TC, that is a big investment but the car suits me and my needs and I can do a lot of repairs for price of a new less capable one. Going to go on hunt for a spare 2.7 that I can tuck away for just in case. Already has a transplant territory donk in it.

@@PeterOZ61 mine has just gotten to the point where I'm starting to loose confidence with it. The last thing I want is some random breakdown in the middle of now where with zero chance of getting it back on the road again.
