Harvesting amaranth (SPINACH) veggies is just cut the young leaves or just the top. It will stay forever. Yes in tagalog call kulitis. You can also just cut the basil top or leaves so that the plants stay longer for your harvest.

Putulin at ibalik ang sanga na may ugat sa lupa kung saan binunot. Kunin lang mga dahon at talbos. Tutubo uli ito. Kailangang talbosan every week depende sa bilis magbigay ng talbos. Lalo pang dadami. Mas murang talbos mas masarap. Kapag nag-mature na ang puno, puro bulaklak na hindi na magbibigay ng talbos. Kaya may 3 months harvest ito bago tumigil. Ang 3 months sa kulitis ay puro pagtatalbos. Actually, from 2 to 3 inches ay puwede nang talbosan habang bata pa. After flowering the seeds will grow back every year.

Don’t pull the whole plant just take the leaves as more leaves will be sprouting again. Try replanting those you pulled and water the roots as soon as you plant this. For leafy vegetables leaves the plant same as the pechay or pachoy it will grow more leaves after picking the first growth of leaves

Your veggie and herb garden is looming good. You can just harvest the older leaves samething with basil, aragula and other lettuces and herbs, this way they will stay for few montths. Try grow peppermint and oregano, these two herbs hate sects and slugs. . I do samething in my garden . String beans ( Baguio beans in the Philippines) must be really good in your place.
