We have been tearing em up here in Northern LP of Michigan as well. Early ice is my favorite time of the season. Been on the ice this season since December 3rd and chasing some rainbows who have been chomping hard

I’m also in the metro haven’t had the balls to go out yet. Hoping we get a good stretch of cold weather soon. Just got a good set up for ice camping so will probably be doing some of that this year. Great video.

Put your name and phone number on your gear. I lost a scoop a few years ago that my father gave me when I was a little boy. My phone number was on it and a gentleman called me up and told asked me where to hide it on shore so I could go get it back. There are some good people out there still.

He's using megalive with the humminbird megalive ice adapter that came in a kit with his unit. If your head unit is gen 3 or 4 mega side or down, you can use a megalive transducer and there are cheaper ice mount solutions you can get.

Thanks for the video Sam! I have a question maybe you could answer. A few years ago it seemed like you and most of the KZfaq crappie catchers were commenting a lot about the crappie's "shoulders." Then it seemed like all crappie shoulder references suddenly stopped and they have not been spoken of again. Did the KZfaq censors decide to classify "crappie shoulders" as hate speech or something? IDK, maybe mentioning them just went out of fashion? What's the deal with that anyway? 😜
