MotoDutchman, you do rock and I enjoy most all your video's. Keep up the good work. Now for a moment of despair and it happened when you said you would choose the BMW over the Ducati...my mouth flew open, my heart sank, and I almost wept. (Is that dramatic enough? LOL) Anyway, I understand your stance(I used to own a Buell Uly and it was totally comfortable) but I disagree. I don't own a BMW but I do a 1299S and I'm in love! Similar to how you were years back. I'm 6' 4" and after adding the Ducati Comfort seat, a cramp buster for the throttle, and a throttle lock I have found my comfort on my beast. Okay, a disclaimer, I've now owned it since Sept 2020 and now put on appox 2k since owning. I use it as my commute bike from home to work(60miles round trip) of total lane splitting joy(when necessary) here in SoCal. Enough of me rambling, enjoy your bikes and keep making videos!

Congrats on the new bikes. You help me a lot with my 959 Panigale and it’s funny to see that you bought a K100 I did the same this summer bought 2 1979 Honda Cx500 1 keeping it all stock and the other I’m building a Cafe Racer for resell. They both have really low mileage under 30k km and are amazing. I got a K100Rs a 1991 in mint condition but have a 100k km on the odometer. Those Flying Bricks really makes in my opinion the best looking bikes when they are built right. I hope you will document and make videos on the K100 build a lot of people are into those bikes and are looking for videos about them. Cheers mate! Hope your doing well and I can’t wait for another of your motorcycle related videos.

That's awesome. I'm really glad my videos were helpful! It might be hard to sell that CX500 after putting so much time into it! Sounds like you have a nice collection of bikes! I started to document the K100 work, but it was taking too long to clear the garage and set up cameras. Not ideal for sneaking in an hour of work while both kids were napping. The last few years have been incredibly busy with my day job, the business I own, and consulting work. In the end, I might be able to string some video together with pictures! Let me know how that CX500 and K100 turns out!

Great video! So happy I sold my GS Adventure after my girlfriend moved out; it was way too heavy for serious off-road adventures, which is where I spend all my time. The GS is an awesome dual sport bike, with mild off-road use, but after I dove back to KTM world, my 2018 KTM 350 EXC-F fits my lifestyle perfectly; and is so light, it feels more like a downhill mountain bike, than a dirtbike!

Great to have you back here in Australia. As a middle aged guy who also own's Ducati sports bikes, did you consider the Multistrada? I did, bought one and couldn't be happier with on-road and off-road performance. Not that brand loyalty is an issue, but just thought I'd ask if you considered one? Maybe a test ride and comparison vid with the Multi Enduro & GS?

I agree mostly with you except vibration. After riding Honda’s so many years, riding this bike afterwards feels like riding a tractor :) . But on feature wise, the bike has so many features so that you can discover months later you have it. Happy having it so far. But if you are not 1.8meters long, you need some stuff to do , bike is tooooooo tall. I buy boots from bmw which has 6cm heels (yes for men :) and I ordered 2 cm lowering kit from aliexpress. There also one last thing to do which ordering low seat which adds 5cm more. Thats how you can achive nearly 10cm low without doing anything pysical with suspension. One more thing to mention, the bike is so heavy and tall, but its sooo balanced and easy to balance. Each time I think like shit I am falling, I made it straight back easily.
@Dutchman0
@Dutchman0 Жыл бұрын
This is spot-on. The bike is tall and awkward, yet balanced. I always tell people that it looks heavy, but becomes nimble the moment the wheels turn. After a year, I started playing with the seat settings after finding myself constantly sliding forward to the tank (like when I ride a dirt bike). I put the seat's front setting to "high" and back to "low" so it was more level. Feels great now!

@Dutchman0 3 жыл бұрын
That's a good question. I've ridden a few of the previous Multis and absolutely loved them. I think it's just a matter of daydreaming about the GS for 20 years. I almost bought a GS instead of the 1299, but knew I wasn't going to be young for much longer. I'm sure I would have been really happy with a Multi, but I'd probably always wonder about that GS. Maybe I'll scrape together enough to add a Multi down the line. :)

Which automotive companies make high quality key fobs? Fob for BMW cars is much the same as the bike fob. When you mention gallons, I suggest adding “American” gallons, they are less than gallons used elsewhere, ideally litres only, common measurement worldwide, probably goes for NASA as well. Tank compartment, I suppose credit/atm card for tolls. Interesting observations. Enjoy.

LOL "BMW1250GSA is not very fast..." "this is my base line a Ducati 999" Me: _GSA1250 '19 rider_ Well no duh it's not very fast! LMFAO it RIPs compared to my '15 thruxton With the key, just keep it with you, if anyone rides off with it running they can't shut it off or it's stopped and the warning hasn't done anything bad to me. Tank compartment is good for garage door opener... bout it for me

@@Dutchman0 SO many things i mean it's a 20k+ bike with a manual windscreen... I have a lot of problems with bluetooth connectivity too, at least 1 out of 3 rides i have to do something to the settings, and the tire monitoring always shows off i have hit the tire pressure on the button 36 front and 42 rear the tire gauge confirms, the tft confirms, light is still on. BUT i've ridding this bad boy up fire trails, open fields, snow, and even motorcross parks. HAHA i know i've stunned a few people back on the trails, when they are feeling good and i come behind them with my SUV MC LOL. OD is my bike and i call it my Sport Touring Tractor.

@@Dutchman0 HAHA I am running the trailmaxx missions on my bike and they are amazing, full confidence in the corners and climbs like a goat in the rough. This is really an adventure bike and the only thing that always makes me smile when I know i'm going on a ride. Though i will admit people look at me like i am a serial killer when i am out riding in the snow. I had one guy say to me "I don't ride in the rain." And I knee jerk reaction said "then you do don't ride in the rain" thru my leg over my wet seat and off on my adventure! Rubber side down!!
