At the noodle and fried pork, you poured the soup into the noodle, which I think is a wrong move. Cuz that noodle is called scallion and oil Lao main, you don’t need the soup to be in there, the noodle is supposed to served with the soy sauce and other ingredients underneath it, if you pour the soup into it, the soup will dilute the flavor of the noodle. Just a little heads up here.

Fantastic video! Just a quick observation, in China, everything is digitalized now. There are Chinese apps and miniprograms for everything! There are reviews available for virtually everything too (reliable and unreliable ones same as in Google). Unlike our Western countries, China has developed its own ecosystem of apps by displacing the American tech monopolies (nobody banned them, they refused to comply with the local laws and left for good). If you check the few countries that have their own alternatives to the major tech giants like META, Google, and Microsoft, they are all labeled as "the axis of evil" but the reality is that they just pushed for their own independence and refused to bow down to these American monopolies to build their own. You saw the facts about China in person now, I'm glad more people can see it by visiting this beautiful country. Cheers from Shanghai!

I just came back from China. What’s so great about China other than the infrastructure, safety, modernity, and efficiency is the small alleys where you can find mom and pop stores selling very delicious and inexpensive foods. Chinese alleys are very clean and safe. I love to stay in high end hotels but eat and walk around alleys. The people in the alleys are also very friendly.

Every country has its bad and good. If I’m traveling, hopefully it will be in the good. You would travel to a city in a safe area like New York, but stay away from bad cities like Chicago. Personally, I was a big fan of Korea, china nice, but Korea music is lit.

@@mitchellfreedlund291 Music isn't just pop music, Korea has only a handful of recent pop music that drives you crazy. But they don't have ethnic music. China has a lot of folk music, Korea doesn't. Pop music has no vitality, but folk music can be passed down for thousands of years. Listen to Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai.

Not just the sky. Everything in China through BBC lens is grey. They also place camera in a low position towards government building or police or even security guard in a uniform if there isn't a police nearby, so they can create a dystopia feel.@@charleneji6759

Very nice video! Thank you for showing what China is truly like. It feels as if im also with you touring it. This is very helpful for those planning to visit this beautiful, modern country. The locals are very friendly, and Chinese cuisine looks delicious, especially their variety of liquors, which you drink, and their high tech payment systems just using your mobile,alipay app and credit card or debit card. And the vibrant night life of the city.

Even if it is positive, they twist it to make it seem negative (you'll often see the headlines "but at what cost?!". Of course there is no perfect country in the world, but I initially became suspicious when it was a very one sided reports on China. Consequently, most people in Australia fear or hate China, and there are racist attacks on Asians.

Love this video so much, I never write comments but this made me generally homesick. Growing up in the french district of Shanghai, it is crazy to see what once to be a quite streets filled with folks - cause they're right, probably one of the prettiest places but it has changed so rapidly in the past few year. I have lived in the USA for 40 yrs and I plan to retire in Zhong Shan or Sanxiang. These two cities are among the nine cities in the Greater Bay Area in Southern China. I will not need to drive while living there and cost of living is so much lower while the standard of living is also high. I can find delicious and affordable foods, and can ride the local bus for free since I am over 60. Didi or Lyft/Uber are soooo cheap too. the cities are clean and safe. Above all, the local people in Zhong Shan are very nice, helpful and friendly.

One major misinformation at the end of this video to be corrected: In China, actually, people use 高德地图 GaoDe Map, a way better alternative to Google Map in China. It even show count down seconds of traffic light on the map in direction mode.

Correct the main map used in China is GaoDe Google you need a VPN to use in China, most offer traffic light seconds - Bai Du, Tencent (Q,Q) even our Tesla (Baidu) now has traffic light count down

it was a little tricky to figure out and set up, but once i got it working, i loved using it! i personally preferred alipay over wechat, loved the built-in translation feature that could translate any page in the app!

Alipay and Wechat pay is not easy to use. You need a Chinese bank card. Visa doesn't work. But it's pretty convenient once you link your Chinese bank card

Yes. You are right. TikTok put the servers in US to comply with US data security and privacy rules and regulations otherwise TikTok is not allowed in US. Google, Facebook, Instagram, etc did not do the same for complaint with China rules and regulations so they withdrew from China market. However, western media and politicians, such as US ambassador in Beijing, will always purposely accuse (smear) China banned them which is not true. It’s very unprofessional for a person like ambassador to tell lies in front of media (Bloomberg) but then it’s US politician way to do it publicly and shamelessly .

You were not supposed to pour the soup into the noodle bowl. This noodle is called "Cong You Ban Mian" which means "green onion oil blend noodles". You are supposed to eat the noodles dry and the soup is like a side dish for you to enjoy after eating the dry noodles.

Actually China uses ‘Dianping’ or ‘Meituan’, akin to ‘Yelp in the US, ‘Tabelog’ in Japan where you can access ratings of various establishments in China. It also offers an English version for user convenience. everything. Happy trip there !

I lived in Shanghai for more than 10 years, it’s one of the best city in the world, very modern and safe. Your vid makes me feel nostalgic. There are a lot more to explore. You could rent a bike and ride it along the east bund when the weather is good. It’s a very good place to be.

As a Shanghainese, I strongly recommend that you go for a stroll in the following neighborhoods if you come next time: Feng Yang Lu(汾阳路), Bao Qing Lu（宝庆路）, Wu Kang Lu(武康路), An Fu Lu（安福路), Fu Min Lu(富民路）and so on, then you would really be immersed yourself in these streets with a true sense of Shanghai.😀 Thanks for sharing😍
